The Skinny: Supposedly this is Rio Natsume’s last DVD. Her career in gravure was amongst the longest ever spanning all the way back to 2003 when her first release, Pure Smile, from Takeshobo, took off and soon enough, Rio Natsume was known all over the world. It is been a wonderful journey through the years with her.
I remember calling her the ‘cute girl next door’, or everyone’s favorite cousin with the big boobs. As a younger model she played they shy but busty gal who you adored. As the years passed, Rio’s took more chances and edged slightly into pushing the envelope. She never got as ‘explicit’ as did Yoko Matsugane – if it could be said that a gravure model could be explicit.
Now Rio is in the latter part of her 20′s and she’s reached that plateau for what they called ‘legends’. She is no longer the shy and innocent model. Now she’s the one who is going to show the younger models the ropes. In this particular DVD, Called My Girl, the younger model is Airi Hiriyama.
So what is the DVD about? Is it mostly scenes of joint posing? Are there any individual scenes with either Airi or Rio? Where is the location of the DVD, and were there any outdoor scenes?
First of all there are only six chapters and each one includes both models. There are only a few brief moments scenes of solo posing which are tacked on as the finale segment of the workout scene and the hot tub scene. Of the six chapters 4 were indoors. The two outdoor scenes were in a fenced in back yard. So if you were expecting some last lingering looks of Rio alone you won’t find more than a short shower sequence followed by Ai-chan doing her solo shower. Nor will you find any exotic locations.
If you ask me, I was kind of disappointed that first – Rio has decided to retire, and second – that this rather ordinary DVD would be her swan song . She looks as good as ever, and if anything her figure is even more voluptuous than we’ve seen before.
But the video lacks style, and the models seemingly aren’t showing much passion for this assignment. The direction is pedestrian at best, and most telling is that this video looks like it was made on a very small budget. There’s a very telling lack of production values. Even the lighting looks cheap.
It is a little unnerving to have Rio called ‘sensei’ or teacher or ‘sempai’ or senior by the other model. While we all know that Rio’s career is ending, and that she’s older now – it is still a task to get your mind to accept her as a sensei.
The Chapters don’t really need much in the way of description. You’ll get the idea of what was intended straight away. The first opens with Rio and Ai-chan in an office. They wear blouses and short skirts. Rio is the older and aggressive woman. Both are going to end up in just bikinis. But Ai-chan is passive as Rio takes the younger girl’s clothing off.
