The Skinny – She’s back. Yes we have Rui Kiriyama back on our screens. This brand new DVD released in Japan on January 20th, arrived at my home in Florida on January 20th. Kudos to both Amazon.co.jp and DHL for the prompt delivery.

As for Rui – this is another one of her eye popping DVDs. She pretty much sticks to the tried and the true stuff that she does so well and that her fans know and can’t get enough of; so don’t be expecting anything new or cutting edge. It’s just not happening. And yes, this is another one of her DVDs that has the letter ‘H’ in the title. No surprise there. In fact, aren’t all of Rui’s DVD’s titled in the same manner?

A nice montage gets things off to a good start. There’s a song playing, and we’ve heard it before, and wondered about it before. I even made it a part of a review I did on a video featuring Yurika Narahara back in June 2009. I couldn’t ID the singers then, and I still can’t. Maybe you can.

The first of the main chapters has Rui entering a small flat. If this is her own place, I’d be shocked because it was rather spartan. Not the least bit feminine and besides a table and a TV stand with a TV, there wasn’t any other furniture. Methinks it isn’t her place,, maybe it belong to a crew member. On the other hand, when Rui takes off that pink sweater and her skirt, stripping down to a big-cupped bra and panties – that’s plenty feminine.

Next out of the chute, Rui enters a shell of building wearing a skimpy ‘shell’ of a dress. It’s backless, side-less, and deeply cut in front. That’s on top of being quite a short dress. We can see some panties beneath the silk down below, but on top, there’s not even a hint of a bra. What’s kind of strange is that within this derelict building she found a mattress with a sheet on it to pose on.

Three is an out of doors water tank on a deck. What we can see of the weather is that it looks wet, rainy, cool and damp. Not that that matters as Rui’s going to get wet anyway. And it turns out that this is just the first water we will see in this chapter. There’s also an indoors bathing area. It still isn’t what you would call a standard bath tub. You’ll love it when Rui is standing and soaping up her butt. When she’s all soaped up, she lies on the floor and is rinsed off by someone (off screen) who is handling the water flow.

 The next chapter has Rui in a white bikini set up in and around a beach. She trots, she crawls, she draws her name in the sand with a stick. The only thing missing is the bright blue sky and sunshine. Then there’s a quick cut, and we have Rui on the same beach, only it is night. She’ll crawl around within some huge rock. The scene is lit by a handheld lamp which usually means we get some shadows, and when it is a close-up, the light looks a bit harsh.

While this scene shows off Rui’s boobs very nicely, there is entirely too much emphasis put on facial close-ups.

The hotel bathroom is our next location. Rui is wearing something in a very pale red. This a lacey kind of a rig. No back, no sides, and not much covering on the front either. This scene is almost a duplicate of the previous one. instead of lying on the sand  – this time she’s making use of a coffee table in the same way before moving over to the narrow bed. If there’s one weakness to this chapter, it is the cameraman’s own shadow over Rui.

Next chapter has Rui climbing out of a carton to open the scene. As always she skimpily clad with the addition of some cat ears. She’s happy to receive an orange lollipop. I’m less thrilled about that. This time, Ri does some dancing, before getting down to basics which means crawling around on the tatami mats. Which means we are in a Japanese hotel. Most likely in Okinawa.

How about a chapter with Rui posing as a student. Rui’s wearing a navy trimmed with white sailor uniform, which is a traditional girls school uniform in Japan. She waits by the side of the road also wearing white woolen gloves and a white scarf. It is night. We approach her in our car. She climbs in. Shortly afterwards, Rui takes the ticket out of a parking garage machine and hands it to us.

Is this going to be one of those scenes where the model starts removing her clothes? If it is, it is a poor choice given the low light available in a car at night. Well the light is low, and yes, she does take off her sailor top. Fortunately they don’t prolong the scene.

Nine has Rui in a white tee shirt and navy shorts. It begins with a bit of calisthenics which leads Rui to successfully keeping TWO hula hopes in motion at the same time. Then the tee and the shorts come off to reveal a bikini. Rui shows off the bikini by jumping rope, dancing, tug-of-war, working with a huge inflated beach ball. Is that the right term? There’s no beach in sight. Okay – exercise ball is a better choice. Eventually Rui is worn out so she simply reclines along-side a pool. Fade out.

Ten – finally we have Rui in a dress! It is a tight sheath in black. She’s in her hotel room and a futon is laid out on the floor. With the dress still on Rui begins to apply some body lotion to her legs. Eventually the black dress is discarded leaving Rui in just a bra and panties. Now the body oil is brought into play once again. Which leads to some straight out sexy posing on the futon. It’s all low key and slow paced – but it works just fine.

Twelve minutes remain. Rui is in the bath tub working with the handheld shower apparatus. What’s this? She’s not showering. Instead she is cleaning the bath tub as well as the walls. There’s plenty of jiggle and wobbling to watch. But then, someone else is handling the shower, and they’re going to make sure Rui gets wet. At first she protests but then she stops.

They hand in a navy blue curt off top which Rui puts on over the bikini. So you know what comes next, don’t you? Right! The bikini top come off and underneath that cut-off top it’s just Rui. The means more jiggling will be seen. When the last of the soap on the bath walls is finally removed Rui can relax.

One more chapter remains (about seven minutes). It is a bedroom scene. Rui wears a lace bustier, panties, white fishnets, and white shoes. Those are the plusses. The minus is a rather tacky hotel room with just twin beds, and not a hint of luxury. I suppose when you’re watching Rui Kiriyama, the setting or lack of setting doesn’t matter all that much. I guess they (the producers) agree because soon the overhead light is dimmed, leaving the room with just the table lamp.

There’s no music and we get to see some water droplets here and there on her body. The implication is sex but there isn’t any sex implied or otherwise – the closest we get to sex is Rui being overheated and her eye lids are lowered.

The bonus chapter is just two minutes and 21 seconds  and it contains some outtakes from the opening apt scene, the water tank, and the final chapter of Rui in the bustier. There’s a bit of play with a rope and maybe that’s the real reason why Rui was sweating.

Summary: Rui Kiriyama is always worth watching. This DVD is pretty much a standard DVD for her, but if I have to rate it, I’d say it is a bit lower than her best efforts. Asides from the relatively inexpensive location (Okinawa?), the only real gripe I have is the overuse of the facial close-up. Three point seven is the score. That’s not a bad score as three point zero is average, yet I’m tempted to call this one a bit of a let-down because she’s done better before. Way better
