The Skinny: This marks Rio Natsume’s first release since May of 2010. That DVD, My Girl, which I reviewed here and called it her worst DVD ever, was her only DVD in 2010, so it is quite nice to have her back with a new video. Rio is probably about 25-26 years old now, and I recall her very first DVD, Pure Smile, for the Takeshobo label, in the summer of 2003. I believe this was the first gravure idol DVD that I purchased. Once again she’s returned to the JWB Resort in Cebu. She is not only older, but for sure, her measurements have increased to a degree.

The video is a bit confusing at the start. We meet Rio in the corridor outside of the hotel room. We are going to ‘be with’ Rio in this room. She knocks on the door, and then, as the door opens, she lets a can of exploding confetti do its thing. Then we see a jetliner in the sky. I think we should have seen the plane first, don’t you?

After that inauspicious beginning we get the Rio that we know and love. Apparently she loves this particular resort because this seems to be her location of choice. This is her 8th video that was shot at the JWB. I think a few reviews back I mentioned that a change of venue might be a good idea. But, realistically it isn’t that much of a concern.

Chapter one features Rio in a crummy location but a neat costume. She’s wearing a top that is backless, side-less, and strapless. This glittering, shining, sparkling top is held on by a few unseen adhesives. What we see is a garbage strewn lot, a scuzzy truck, a run down or unused work-shed, and a bright blue bulldozer. Completing Rio’s ensemble is a faux cartridge belt, a camo dog tag, camo briefs, a camo arm band, and a belt that has a series of faux coins dangling. It is in this unlikely setting that Rio has the task of applying some body lotion to her curves.

Two starts at the beach. Rio wears a yellow tee-shirt over a blue bikini. She tugs the tee shirt off to reveal her ponderous bust. She flashes a bottle of sun-lotion. A brief fade out then we see that Rio has that tee shirt that we just saw her remove back on. Some lotion is applied, then we have a pair of some one’s hands applying the lotion. This is commonly called the ‘massage scene’.

You do get some nice views of the massage. Sorry – make that nice views of Rio’s bust and butt. The massage is just half the chapter. The second half is pool-side posing.

Three has Rio in a dress. The setting is an outdoor restaurant. No customers in sight. Rio wear a dress that is side-less, and backless. She’s also bra-less. This is a rather low-key scene with Rio doing most of her posing on one of the picnic styled tables. She’s protected from the sun by the thatched roof. We can see automobiles pass by in the background. The scene is rather blah visually – mostly just under the skirt views and side boob views. But Rio looks superb. They’ve spent a lot of time fixing her hair in this chapter. One more thing this was the first chapter that did not have Rio talking to us.

Four is a Rio trademark – the bath scene. Lots of talking, lots of cleavage, and lots of soap bubbles. This bath tub is also a Jacuzzi and is surrounded by windows which seems to be the style of this resort. Usually, Rio does very well in this type of scene.

She has to put up with someone prodding and poking her with a soap brush, but only for a little while. She seems a little perturbed by that, but not really.

Her bikini bra gets untied, and once Rio has enough soap bubbles to conceal her body – she hands the bikini bra off to someone off screen. So between a hand bra, soap bubbles, and some superb angles Rio will show off a good portion of her bare breasts.

In what is probably quite unique for a bath scene – we do not see any water at all.

Five has Rio doing aerobics in a leotard. Okay, maybe it is dancing rather than aerobics. Okay – maybe it is just a lengthy amount of wiggle and jiggle rather than dancing. Then comes some jump rope. As expected, the notoriously un-athletic Rio can only jump rope for a short time. The some pull stretching, then kicking a soccer ball. Rio does well with this bit of sporting activity- the soccer, and looks good while doing this.

Six has Rio in a bedroom. A ground floor room, and with the double french doors open. She’s wearing some sexy boudior attire. Someone hands her an ice cream on a stick. But this is used only as a time filler. For the third time, in just six chapters, they’ve managed a product placement for a Sony HD camera. Rio has it under her pillow. The ploy is for her to hand off the camera so we can shoot video of her. The lighting for this scene was excellent.

Seven was another of those mix and match costumes – gold cut off top and blue panties and a rhinestone belt. We get a lot of low angles with the camera looking upward. Unfortunately, in this chapter they have decide to play the oral card once more. An extremely large ice popsicle is the prop. If you ask me, Rio doesn’t look particularly happy about having to run this object between legs or having to touch it with her lips. It is far too big to enter her mouth.

Eight finds us out by the pool. Rio wears a hooded and zippered sweatshirt over a black with silver trim one piece swim suit. Just having her pose in that skin-hugging suit would have been enough. But they think we are all crazy about seeing a girl work on a lollipop. I’m definitely not one of those people.

But it goes away and ultimately Rio does get back to basics.

Nine starts with Dr. Natsume. Rio is wearing a white lab coat, eye glasses, a stethoscope, a white blouse, and a short black skirt.

Soon enough she is going climb on top of us for a short bit. Then she’s lying on the bed, on her side, with both hands between her legs. She’s doing something but we can’t quite see what.

She sits up and soon a pair of hands appear to help her out of her clothes. The skirt comes off then the hands carefully unbutton her blouse. There’s a too small bra on display. Next the panty hose have to be removed which reveals panties that match the bra. Then off come the stockings. After that (because we have reached the limit of what can be removed by another person) Rio poses nicely. As we have seen before, this resort has a lot of heavy and ornate furniture. Rio poses on the marble floor before heading back to the bed. At this point, red water paint is carefully dripped on to her body. I wonder if E-Net had to reimburse the JWB resort for the damage done to the bedspread.

We are now at the 1:06:30 mark. A hotel room door opens. There’s Rio in a red nightgown. She takes our hand and leads us into a rather plain hotel room. After a few make believe kisses, the camera turns to the right looking at the bed. Rio takes the hint.

There she is on the bed. Soon enough she’s bouncing up and down as the camera looks up at her. Then she’s on her back moving as if she were having sex. Then she’s on her stomach still moving the same way. After awhile she will stop to untie the straps of her nightgown.

At 1:13:50 the scene ends and the credits roll. Not a good way to end the video. The scene was badly lighted, had no music, and wasn’t at all erotic. As I’ve said before about Rio – playing sultry isn’t one of her strong suites.

There’s a bonus chapter with outtakes from earlier scenes: a) Rio in the blue bikini from Chapter Two, b) Rio in the bra and panties from the Dr sketch – Chapter 9, and this time she has a baby’s bottle of milk complete with a nipple. So Rio gets to drink the milk from the bottle. Both of these two segments should have been just plain dropped from the video. This four minutes and change bonus chapter was simply a waste of time.

Summary: A weak ending – the combination pseudo-sex scene and the bonus chapters served only to bring down the score of this video. Rio was fine in the first 9 chapters. She still has a marvelous figure, and is seemingly quite at ease showing off her curves as well as flirting with we viewers.

As we have seen Rio at this resort so many times before, I really, really think it is time to change. The bath tub scene has become a staple of a Rio DVD and this one was again excellent. The Dr. scene, also a Rio staple, is a bit played out, and needs refreshing.

I’ll give Rio a four point zero for this effort, and I ‘ll tell you that the ending prevented a higher score. Rio’s been at this since 2003, and she’s always fun to watch. But for now, I’d like to see a shopping scene, or a visit to town, or even a scene with her in street clothes. I haven’t deducted any points for the absolute lack of freshness to this Rio DVD, but I have no qualms at all about pointing this out. Try something new sweetie.
