The Skinny: As reader Malau so aptly put it, this is a DIY release. That’s the acronym for Do It Yourself. As reader Xater has described the situation, Narusawa Minami has severed relations with her talent agency, and her web blog has come down, or hasn’t been added to, as well. The thinking is quite likely: why pay an agent – I can produce and distribute the DVD myself. Having done so once, it remains to be seen if this feat can be done again. For what it is worth, the end of this DVD shows a short clip for a second DVD that is described as “Coming Soon “.

Most of the time you need to get a distributor to buy up the DVD so it can be placed in a multitude of retail outlets. So we will have to wait and see if this DVD and the Narusawa name/image will result in enough sales for the stores to place orders for the 2nd DVD, or for that matter, for Narusawa et al, to actually have the second DVD pressed, with a print run for the covers, and to buy a supply of the DVD cases.

So much for the business side of things. What about the video? Is this DIY any good? Is it worth seeing? Well, for those of you who appreciate a busty model, this DVD delivers plenty of boobage. No doubt about that. But for discerning buyers and viewers, just pointing a camera at a girl with big breasts is only the starting point. There’s got to be more.

That’s where the DIY comes into play. The DVD was shot locally. No one flew off to a distant island for this production. In fact, everything about this DVD looks like it was shot with budget foremost on everyone’s mind.

There’s no spectacular locations. Some of the DVD does occur outside, but not so you  would want to go there yourself. Costumes for Minami? Not really. There’s a school uniform, gym shorts and tee shirts, and bikinis. Not much else. Oh yes, one scene had Minami as a cat – ears, tail, and large cat paw gloves. Furniture? One leather sofa. Carpets – none. Artwork or even prints on the walls – none. Jewelry? None.

I will say that visuals are competently done as is the editing, lighting, and even the audio are at least decent. On occasion you will hear the crew talking, or even a person walking up a staircase. They do add musical tracks but somehow some of these non-essentials ambient sounds were left in or uncovered.

Minami? Her huge breasts are on display throughout. She’s not nude of course, but showing off that bust is the primary objective. As far as that goes – mission accomplished. Minami smiles easily enough and seems comfortable showing off her assets, but she lacks charisma. Too often she seems to be waiting for direction. To counter act that, the director has done a good job in offering us many different angles, and he wisely changes the camera’s positions often.

The last scene was the cat scene. She swatted a fuzzy thing, batted a ball with her ‘paws’ and to finish, she was asked to lap up some milk from a bowl on the floor. Sorry, but that’s amateurish. At that – the costume for the cat scene, aside from the cat accouterments, was a faux zebra skin bikini.

Summary: For big boob lovers only; more specifically – even for Narusawa’s fans, this DIY DVD is nothing to get excited about. It’s not bad, but it lacks excitement. It is only 51 minutes in length, plus even a basic like a root menu is missing. Three point zero.
