The Skinny: Anri lands in Bali might have been the headline announcing the DVD, or the title, if I had any say in the matter. But I’m just a (re)-viewer not a producer. So I’m limited to just offering an opinion. By the way, this review marks a landmark of sorts.

This is the 400th article that I’ve written for this blog since the old AoV shut down in the spring of 2006. This new site began at gijo.org [the gijo.org website is no longer in line] in August of 2006, and then became an independent domain in December, 2008. The site is getting a lot of views; the current stats say I’m getting more than 31,000 hits a month. That’s page views not unique visitors. Still it feels gratifying, Thanks.

Speaking of gratification, there’s plenty of that to be had when you watch one of Anri Sugihara’s DVDs. Anri is right up there with the best of the gravure idols. Don’t let her slender frame with her slight shoulders and slim legs fool you. There’s plenty of upfront substance on this woman.

The Opening Montage sets the tone. It’s exciting, spirited, and Anri looks quite animated and happy. The first of the main chapters introduces Anri in high heels a deep blue man-tailored shirt over a white bikini.

The basics are that Anri will cover a lot of ground walking around the Bali resorts’s premises before ending up by the pool.

This scene is a marvelous due to the excellent combo of editing and Anri’s movements. The music is upbeat and the scene just oozes excitement.

Two begins with Anri again on the grounds. This time she starts the scene off in a long sleeve pinkish colored pullover sweater. And yes there’s a bikini underneath. We will eventually get to see that it is a multi-colored striped bikini with red as the predominate color. Also dominating the scene are are Anri’s huge twin treasures. The latter part of the scene suffers a bit from the lowered indoor lighting.

The third chapter is poolside. I wasn’t thrilled by the pattern on Anri’s mono-kini, but there’s no doubt that this outfit certainly accentuated her magnificent bust. Eventually they introduce an inflatable yellow raft which Anri straddles. You’ll be able to tell that the cameraman goes right in the pool with Anri. It was kind of a fun scene. I was hoping that Anri would fall off the raft but it didn’t happen. The one bad thing about this one was the samba music which simply didn’t fit.

Four introduces Anri in a long-sleeve white, man-tailored shirt.

She’s wearing high heels, black fishnet stockings, and a sexy black and white bra and panties ensemble.

Soon enough Anri is on a white-sheeted bed.

Kudos to the art director for the coordinated color scheme of the scene.

But a big thumbs down for the music, which was dreadful.

When Anri begins to jump around on the bed you will appreciate her motion.

Five seems to be three scenes in one. Anri wears a pink somthing. It migh be a night gown, it might be a sun dress, or it might be something a woman wears over her bikini on the way to the beach or the pool. Whatever.

First she poses in it while standing, then she’s lying on a bed. Then in the middle section, a pair of ladies (you can see two right hands other than Anri’s) with brushes set about to tickle and tease Anri, who shrieks away. The final part has her back to just posing. PS the pink shift never does come off.

In six, Anri portrays a French Maid in an abbreviated sexy costume. You can see a bucket and a broom. Even though Anri was wiping down a table, and the wooden arms of a chair, it really seemed that the whole point was to show as much cleavage as possible. Which is fine – this is a gravure video not an instructional video on housework.

When this little bit of dusting, wiping, mopping, and sweeping proved to be an exertion for Anri, she took a break to have some water. As expected more water spilled into her cleavage than down her throat. Still, at the end of the day, we don’t care about the house work, nor the French Maid motif – as Anri looked spactacular.

The next chapter was the one chapter in the video that was really not up to par. First Anri comes out with a jump rope. She does a better job of pantomining jumping rope than actually doing so. She isn’t very good with a hula hoop either. Finally she poses in the low cut exercise top, but mostly uses her hands or arms to conceal her bust far too often.

When Eight begins we are more than 53 minutes into the video. This likely will be the last of the main chapters. Anri is in one of the Balinese out of doors but still private bath and showers. She’s earing a black top, shorts, and a faux-leopard skin bikini beneath. First shell cover herself in chocolate sauce. Then a bath to rinse most of it off, then a shower to to finish the job. The shopwwer stall has some glass, and Anril will press her boobs against the glass. The some whipped cream is brought in to play, but they botched this part as it wasn’t really effective at all.

The last three minutes and change include a dialogue between Anri and another woman, a meal, and some behind the scenes footage. On the whole, there’s nothing special about this segment.

Summary: A mixed bag. Anri is always superb to look at. I mean she’s busty, beautiful, and knows what allure means. But this video suffered in spots due to poor planning, average at best lighting, and often bad choices for the music. Still, I won’t give the video a bad rating. That means will bring this one in with a three point seven five rating.
