Miyabi Isshiki – The Surprisingly Huge Bust Manifest (December 15th, 2009)
Impact- One
Catalog # – IOne-04 – Region 2 Disc – 4:3 Aspect
Running Time: 80 Minutes
The Skinny – a new production house, Impact One, signed Miyabi Isshiki last year, and then sent her and a production crew off to a location. This is Miyabi’s newest DVD and was released last month in December (2009). The title is a bit much: The Surprisingly Huge Bust Manifest, but if you’re shopping in a Tokyo store, and you see the DVD on a shelf, you’ll recognize Miyabi and you certainly won’t care much about the title.
If you’re shopping on line, then the catalog # above will be helpful.
Well, if you been reading this blog for a while you know that prior to this new DVD, both Miyabi and Miri Hanai as well, had been handed off by the producers to the dreaded Momow for their most recent releases.
Momow has been called everything from a human train-wreck to a two or three car pileup. It is a wonder that Myabi’s and Miri’s careers in the gravure industry weren’t de-railed by Momow the director. The thing of it is, that Momow never met a video editing gimmick that he didn’t absolutely love, which means that he used every gimmick in the book, and some that aren’t even in the book, to call attention to his so called wizardry behind the editing console, to his directing, and to himself. In those cases, it was the viewing public that suffered.
Rest assured folks, this time out, we will see Miyabi in all her natural splendor with hardly any editing at all. This DVD has 7 main chapters and they average out to 10 minutes per. Some longer and some shorter but that’s the average. We might even call this work digital verite.
In the chapter in the jacuzzi which isn’t tuned on in this one, we didn’t get an edit until 10 minutes into the chapter. Turn on the camera – the model moves a little, the camera moves a little – and there’s no need to cut.
Admittedly, this technique will generally lead to comments along the lines of too long, boring, or both. And these comments would be true. But given the choice of watching Miyabi with her Surprisingly Huge Bust manifesting itself nearly non-stop for 70 odd minutes without those distractions that are created and added in after the video has been captured, there’s really nothing to think about.
If Arragon or Argyle1968, myself, or any of you are plunking down more than 3000 yen to watch Miyabi wiggle and jiggle, that’s what we paid for and that’s what we want to see.
Lovely Miyabi trots out the twins in a series of bikinis, thong bikinis, and other revealing tops non-stop. She’ll even remove her top once or twice opting for the hand-bra. The entire video is shot outside – there’s no colorful furniture or dimly lit rooms.
The music is mostly an upbeat jazzy score, and while not memorable per se, it is new and not the recycled stuff we often hear.
Since there’s very little in the way of editing we can’t say any more than how nice it is to see, and I mean to be able to actually watch a huge hooter-ed model at play.
Summary: The video is not without some blemishes and flaws. For example there’s an extended underwater sequence in the pool where mostly we watch Miyabi’s legs kicking. And in an outdoor shower sequence, somehow the camera gets right there in close, so we get a lot of noise from the water falling on the camera, and moto, moto water drops on the lens.
Four and a quarter is my score. This DVD should do wonders for Miyabi’s career…and I’m sure you’ll get a kick out of it as well. Recommended – well worth your time and money.

“If … any of you are plunking down more than 3000 yen to watch Miyabi wiggle and jiggle, that’s what we paid for and that’s what we want to see.”
Yep.
I forgot to mention in my review, for those who look out for this sort of stuff, Miyabi’s pokies can be seen in a few of her outfits. I’ve not seen this phenomenon before with the mainstream idols I follow, so to me it was an “event”.
Also, re: Momow–the editing on those DVDs was excessive, but also the content of some of the scenes was ridiculous. Having a beautiful woman dribble ice cream all over herself like a retard is a bit of a waste, IMHO.
Fortunately, this DVD has none of that sort of rot.

Thanks for commenting Argyle.
In my review I forgot to mention something that you mentioned in your review. It is true that the out-takes or off- shots as they call them, did seem of a lesser technical quality. More grainy, weak sound etc.
But the main video chapters were not as crisp as I’ve seen in other idol DVDs. Maybe Impact One used lesser media (discs) in the transfer process.
I’m not saying it is bad, I;m saying I’ve seen better.

Is it me or what?… but I feel like Miyabi’s Magic from the early dvd releases dissapeared, don’t get me wrong, she’s still quite hottie and her body rocks but there’s a sensation of something missed about her from me. Maybe Momow factor? @____ _@’
On the other hand, do you know something about the long hiatus of Hitomi Aizawa sice her las release in Jun 2009? I’m wondering if she would keep releasing more dvd’s or not.
Mike, Zatoichi, Xater, the other Mike, anyone?

Well Pedro – maybe it is you……
Just kidding!!
Everyone will have a different reaction to visual mediums. My initial reaction was that Miyabi’s face looked thinner. And for sure you are right about the Momow factor. Only the lack of the Momow factor would INCREASE what we see of Miyabi…so maybe its not that something is missing…instead something has been added…
Sorry, if that is a tad confusing. Thanks for posting another comment.

Pedro, I feel the same way. Something about Miyabi’s first few videos were just… awesome. Some of her previous work was terrible, but she’s been really picking it up lately, this release looks great and can’t wait to get it.

Thank for the comments Marth. Your words are those of a true Miyabi fan.

I have mentioned before about being “spoiled” with all these ladies, I think Miyabi is the most remarkable girl from the last 3 or 4 years, and her return actually made me lost some interest in Hana Haruna (and nearly put the nail in Minami Matzusaka’s coffin)
But some people would probably feel different, Miyabi was outstanding when she debuted, even if Fuko and probably Hitomi Tanaka had bigger boobs… Miyabi was something else… but 3 years later, she has to go against some other girls of similar caliber…
In other words, she does not stand out as much as before – she still edges most of the newer girls, imo, but videos not being great have take its toll, the novelty has wear off, “the magic” so to speak.
I still think she’s awesome.

Very interesting response from Xater. Thanks for the comment.
In short, he’s saying the novelty has worn off. Though I’ve not come out and said the same thing as directly as that – It’s been my experience that once you’ve seen 7 or 8 videos of the same woman – you start noticing more about the sameness of the style, or the video’s shortcomings.
However in the case of Miyabi – we have two things to consider -
a) the new start without Momow
b) the possibility that she might have her teeth fixed/replaced/capped.
Something like that could really change our perspective on her as we’d have to consider it a new look.

I’ve been (rightfully) accused of being breast-obsessed … and Miyabi certainly has a phenomenal set … but my “true love” is actually a beautiful face with a great smile.
JMM’s comment above really struck a chord with me.
Will this girl PLEASE get her teeth capped! I won’t be buying anymore Isshiki DVDs until she takes care of that mess in her mouth.
Feb 03, 2010 @ 11:56:09
So you are breast-obsessed – you and the thousands of others who read this column. Not to mention the millions of breast-obsessed who don’t read this column. It is a natural state of being for so many of us.
Not that there’s anything wrong with it….
I’m not going to hold you to that no cap/no buy comment.
If we are lucky, some breast obsessed Japanese dentist will decide to make his move…

I hope Miyabi leaves her teeth just the way they are. She’s a beautiful woman just the way she is. Uniqueness is what makes certain people special. Nonami Takizawa has a gorgeous face, but how do those who find no fault in her overlook her gut? The answer is, it is part of what makes her unique and uniquely sexy.
As for Miyabi’s DVDs, people always get restless, get tired of models who’ve been working for awhile. start searching for something new. Miyabi has made only two poor DVDs, both with Momow. The others have been consistently good-to-excellent. Not every DVD hits a home run, but look at the record of Yoko Matsugane, who’s had, IMHO, more ups and downs than a roller coaster, and a hell of a lot more downs lately than ups.
JMM–Miyabi has lost weight since her initial videos as “Miri Sendo”, and possibly even since Good to Go! (which IMHO marked the apex of her sexiness), but so long as she doesn’t lose that overall soft curviness she has, she’ll be my fave.

Thanks for the comments Argyle. Spoken as a true Miyabi fan and I mean that in the positive sense.
I only suggested that Miyabi might have her teeth fixed. Mike from Michigan jumped on that rather forcefully. I am more than happy with her looks and appearance. But it is my considered opinion that every once in a while Miyabi appears to be a little self-conscious about her smile. Like she’ll start a smile then shut it down rather quickly.
Just at times – and certainly not all the time do I notice this.
Models bring their beauty, charm, and charisma with them to the DVD shoot in greater or lesser amounts depending on a number of personal factors; and then the director, art director, editor, and producer make the decisions… so as Argyle says you can’t hit a home run every time, correctly pointing to Yoko’s uneven output over the last few years.
We as viewers have our own faves, and we are sometimes more likely to overlook something if the model is one of our favorites, or more likely to notice something wrong if the model isn’t one of our favorites.
But there is one truth in this – that for sure we can agree to disagree.

The list on the review & column index lists this as “The Surprisingly HUST Bust Manifest”, so you might want to fix that.

Okay, got it and Fixed. Looks like someone is very sharp-eyed. Thanks.
