The Skinny: Sayuki Kanno is a rather new model. Brand new to me for what that’s worth; so new that, at this time, cdjapan.co.jp doesn’t even list her on their English site. On their Japanese site (Neowing) this brand new release (December 18th) is already sold out. They suggest a two to four week wait. Let’s check out her DVD and see what she looks like.
After a slow montage (not in time but in motion) we first meet Sayuki in sitting on a desk in a classroom. She’s sitting with her knees up and slowly moving her hands along her legs. A long facial closeup follows and when thats done we’ve seen about 2 and 1/2 minutes of barely any movement at all. Not at all promising. Finally at 6:00 minutes in we get a smile.
Things pick up a bit as we approach the 8 minute mark when Sayuki lifts up her top to reveal her large boobs encased in a lacy, big-cupped bra. About two minutes later, there’s a short fade to black, but we soon to return to Sayuki now kneeling on the desk with her back to us, now lifts her skirt to show her tail section.
Ultimately, Sayuki will release the front clasp of her bra to cover her boobs with her hands. A dreadful scene as the camera movement is extremely slow, and the model barely smiles or moves.
The second chapter begins and the model is standing behind a see through curtain. Her smiles come with a much higher degree of frequency, but there’s still a rather pronounced lack of movement.
At 16:00 minutes but still within the same chapter, Sayuki will remove her lacy top by just dropping it to the floor. She’s leaving herself in just the bikini bra and panties.
There’s more variety to her poses with different angles, but the same flaws from the 1st chapter remain – slow paced, slow camera movement, and slow movement by the model. The only real improvement is the smiles.
Three starts with Sayuki and a cuddly toy stuffed polar bear who is being pressed against her boobs. Within seconds she’s smiled broadly and said some words (her first of the DVD).
There’a stuffed toy brown bear in sight but initially he’s forlorn and idle. Sayuki wears cute white woolen leg warmers and soon enough she plays with the brown bear with her feet.
Eventually she’ll leave those stuffed bears and pose by herself which includes taking off a her green short pants overalls. Soon each teddy bear will get Sayuki’s butt pressing against their faces.
Then Sayuki removes her bikini bra and uses the stuffed bear’s feet as a covering for her boobs before the chapter’s finale which is a hand-bra segment.
Four is outdoors – the first such scene in the video (31 minutes in). Sayuki wears a cut-off tee shirt (which is never removed), white shorts with thong bikini panties beneath.
She’s out on a wooden deck and really doesn’t move from the single spot she starts on. Again everything is slow.
Five has Sayuki in a shiny bikini. It is indoors and the background is dark. She is lit by some direct lighting device. It is not so much that it is a bad scene, but when you have a solid dark background, what happens in the foreground better have some movement. But this is just more of the same slow paced that we’ve seen throughout. Aside from removing her bikini bra and then using her hands to cover herself, nothing much happens.
Six is again indoors but at least the room is bright and sunny. Sayuki has her hands tied in front of her. She won’t go very far – in fact, she doesn’t even stand up on her feet even once. Usually that is the case in a bedroom scene – but here there’s no sign of a bed.
The 7th and last of the main chapters starts with Sayuki with her hands out to receive some dripping body oil which he then applies to her bikini bra’d boobs, legs, and butt. But the highlight of this scene and of the entire video is when she is on hands and knees and some milk is dripped on to her butt. The clarity of the image is remarkable. When Sayuki removes her bikini top and the milk is poured directly into her cleavage it can’t work as well. So they have her sit in a puddle of milk with her knees up. This gets her hands out of the picture.
Summary: That’s it – just the seven main chapters. No bonus chapters or behind the scenes. The director credit was listed as Trans AM – yeah like the car. I guess he didn’t want to put his real name on this one.
The Pros – Sayuki has big eyes, big boobs, and is simply a big girl. I’m sure the director loved her eyes as there are a plethora of facial closeups.
The Cons- limited movement by the model in every scene. Slow camera movements in every scene. Same pacing in every scene. Literally – imagination and creativity by the director seemed non-existent as every scene was virtually the same. The one scene with some movement and action involved the teddy bears.
I think Sayuki Kanno should get more work with a better production outfit as she is quite curvy in a big girl sense. In one sense the video was disappointing as it didn’t live up to the expectations I had from the video box cover or the menu card which is below. My rating is just a three point zero as this video didn’t quite deserve either a below average or above average rating.

I wonder if aspiring idols actually watch gravure videos… or they blindly thrust what the director tells them to do… anyone can point and shoot a camera to a almost undressed girl and it might be pretty hot, but gravure video have a certain “magic” to them. I’ve only seen the preview, and it shows she has no idea what it is all about. And with 7 chapters, it was obviously under-produced.
I’m actually surprised the disc is sold out, probably means that it had a microscopic print run, so maybe a more experienced producer will pick her up for a newer release, she does seem to have the right physical attributes for a gravure career.

Selling out and being a big seller are two completely different things. As you correctly surmised. Of course Japanese buyers have so many retail outlets – at least in the big cities – that an outfit like Neowing may not stock a large amount of copies especially for a new idol from a small outfit at least initially.
When you say that the model has no idea about what it is all about – that might be natural for a young woman on her first video. Her agent should say take a look at these. Or more importantly the director should guide her through the scenes. They can always drop his instructions out of the audio track.
That assumes that he knows what he is doing. Merely pointing his camera at her is not enough.

Sorry … but score-wise we’re gonna have to agree to disagree on this one.
While I concur with your description of the disc 100%, my reaction to it is completely opposite. The very slow pace of the video is what makes it so appealing to me, and it seems to suit Sayuki’s demeanor quite well.
Her appearance and her personality remind me of a relatively obscure Idol named Nana Saotome … who just happens to be my all-time favorite GI. (Nana appeared in three vids and one photobook between May and November of 2006, and then promptly disappeared … much to my chagrin).
Anyway, I DO hope that Sayuki is hired by one or more of the big-time Idol studios so we can get a chance to see her perform under the guidance of a more experienced production team.
