The Skinny: There’s good news and bad news. The good news is that Asana Mamoru is likely going to have a grand career in the world of gravure modeling. I mean you can just tell by looking at her. She’s going to be a big, big star. If you liked Hana Haruna, you’re going to love Asana Mamoru. Assuming of course that she doesn’t quit the industry in disgust.
First shot of the montage
The bad news is, IMHO, that she likely needs a new agent. This might be the worst debut video I’ve ever seen. For the life of me, I can’t figure out how her agent agreed to this video. Then, the director is named Mitsuru Kurumoto. This guy makes Momow look good. Finally, the executive producer over at E-Net Frontier needs to explain to his bosses what he was thinking of when he green-lighted this project.

You are immediately hooked by the montage. Asana is tall and possesses a huge bust. The montage gives you so many greats looks into her vast cleavage that you’re going to be saying something like – I can’t believe I was lucky enough to get this DVD. What a great model, what a great body!
Unfortunately, the montage which is supposed to serve as an intro to the delights that will follow, is almost as long as the actual delights themselves. Okay that is an exaggeration, but not by much.
The main chapters consist of about 59 minutes and change. I’d be willing to say that for about half of that time, Asana is seated on an upholstered chair. She wears a black and white top with a deeply scooped neckline, a bright red belt, and a short black skirt. An ornament on a gold chain nestles at the top of her cleavage She sits there doing nothing except blinking for 1 full minute as the video begins. At this point, you’re going to be saying – okay enough – let’s get it started.
After thinking about it, Asana speaks her very first words in the video – Marie Antoinette-o.
As you can see in this shot above, there are about six characters toward the top of the screen. I can’t tell you what they mean or what Asana is talking about. But I will make a guess that she is playing some sort of word association game. I’m guessing but I think at some point she’s talking about her body as her moving hands make the international gesture for a curvy woman’s body, and more than once too.
Maybe if you are a Japanese speaking person this may make some sense. Or maybe it will be as mystifying to you, as it is to me, even though you can understand what she’s discussing and what the characters represent.
They will vary the angles while she’s speaking: straight-on, half-profile, and full-profile. The camera moves and the images zoom in and out. One text character comes forward and the others leave. A length of text appears on one-side with the first character on the other side. The characters and words change. Ultimately Asana says the word mango.
Shortly afterward, she appears as Marie Antoinette. A good portion of her breasts are exposed. She’s angry. She picks up a mango and begins to peel away the skin, And she’s getting even angrier, even throwing down the skin of the fruit disgustedly. She will bite into the mango and I didn’t know that a mango is a handfruit. Apparently it is or might be. After a bite or two, Marie fades away, and Asana returns as before seated and talking.
The characters appear again, and more word association is what we watch for a while. She must have said the right word because we are soon transported to a rooftop which has beautiful green grass. The Tokyo skyline is behind and we are probably atop a very tall building.
For the next twelve minutes, Asana is in a series of bikinis. She is given in turn a series of props: a badminton raquet, a baseball glove and a baseball, three flowers, a beach umbrella, a beach ball, a large exercise ball, and finally an orange.
Throughout this entire series of segments she is angry. Likely she’s not believing what is going on. She is either sneering, frowning, or looking quite disgusted throughout. On top of tha,t despite the fact that she looks astoundingly busty in her series of bikinis – the director insists on giving us a 4 way split screen, so each of the images is just a quarter of the screen.
Your attention is divided – you get occasional glimpses of her mighty boobs and then you get an angry woman looking very pissed. Only when she is given the orange does her demeanor change – instead of anger, now we get her acting as if she’d been waiting for that orange her whole life. Oh happy day!!
But then we are back to words, text characters, and a seated Asana again. At least she’s happy while this is going on. Nearly five minutes pass before we get a change.
There’s Asana in black leather flashing a lot of cleavage. She’s got a red motorcycle parked behind her. There’s a sunset image as a background and some CGI sand in the foreground. Some words are spoken and then she’s going to leave, Ja ne, she says – see you!. Then we get a few minutes of make believe motorcycle riding.
But we don’t go very far as we ‘re soon back to a seated talkative Asana as before. After more chat and words – A new scene begins. Asana as a giddy school girl skips towards us on a quiet residential street. Her bust heaves mightily beneath the white blouse. She’s eating an ice cream on a stick. She’s stopped by what must be a ‘dirty old man’. She talks with him (he’s offscreen – never shown) and he’s got the camera. We are either watching her eat the ice cream or watching her blouse get soiled by the dripping ice cream.
Soon we are back to the seated Asana on the chair. A few minutes of talking and then the next scene starts. Asana is on a bed. She’s wrapped from the top of her head to her feet in a sheet. We see nothing of her for a half minute. She thrashing about, half crying, half beseeching us about something over and over. Finally she sits up and throws the sheet down. She’s clearly distressed.
Dressed in a satin slip, we can see plenty of cleavage…but this woman is beside herself. Is she sick, is she in a hospital ward in prison, or a mental hospital. I can’t tell you. Look at her face. Is this what you expect when you buy or watch a gravure idol? After about three minutes of this caterwauling, she goes back under the sheet.
As expected we are now back at the chair again. The time reads 50 minutes and 12 seconds. Only nine more minutes remain of the main chapters. About three minutes of the chat pass by before we get another scene change.
Asana wears a black top which reveals her cleavage. She’s chatting on a phone while making some sort of soup or hot pot. Ingredients come from on the table, from within her cleavage, or from a space where she had some hidden at the back of her skirt. Hands appear and she slaps them away. Finally the phone call ends and the soup is ready. Fade out and roll credits.
Summary: That’s it folks. Despite a world-class body you’re going to be disappointed and angry. My advice is watch the montage then skip the 59 minutes of the main chapters and watch just the 17 minutes of the behind the scenes. Here you get the real Asana. She’s happy, boisterous and still very busty with a major plus – all the anger and frowns and so forth are not what we see here. Watching her in these out-takes and making of segments is how you know that she’s going to be a major, major gravure star.
Why they made a video of a girl seated on a chair and talking for half the video, and half of the remaining half of the time she’s miserable or doing something that is inexplicable, sort of raises some questions. Like Why? And, You’re kidding right? You want me to buy this? But E-Net Frontier did. And so did I. Go figure.
But in reality, she’s definitely worth seeing again. And whatever they show us next will have to be a major improvement. Three point zero is the rating and it is only that high because I think the model is going to be fabulous. I wish I could say the same for the director. What a shame, I really wanted this DVD to be great. [Sigh]
Psst, If they had made anything even close to a standard beach, bikini, and bath gravure video, Asana Mamoru would have received a minimum of a 4.5. One can only hope for something like that next time out for this model.
lol, I guess I had more fun reading your review than you watching this IV, this girl seems to be setting the Japanese boards on fire… so I’ll keep and eye on her, for whatever reason, I don’t like her pics either (so far), but she surely has a bright future ahead of her.

Well, it seems she started as “Kono Asana (河野麻奈)” with some fashion model type aspirations as her early pics had relatively few bikini shots, and she was listed as having an 85 cm bust, nearly 9 inches less than Hana? Don’t think so… maybe that thing of going from fashion-ish to gravure was enough to create the hype?

To the suits over at I-One and Takeshobo – sign this girl immediately. Put her and a production crew on a plane to Bali, to Saipan, or even Okinawa. Get her on a beach and more than anything else – have a plan that will make the model happy – and if you do, you will reap the rewards of having a top selling DVD.

She’s the one! She’s actually 13 months older than Rui (YOB 1991!!) I’ve only seen the cover with her, and they usually photoshop covers to death, but she might be interesting… her name in western characters is printed in the cover, as well as a link to her blog, I’m positive about her name.
It does not look as if there’s any shortage for cute, busty idols…

Sorry for being dissapeared all this time but certain personal things have had me distanced from some of my tastes, like this for example.
And, you know, I’m here today not precisely for this topic in particular (sorry…) but because yesterday I received an e-mail from Cdjapan telling me that a new dvd from Nonami Takizawa called “3D X Shogeki Furetemite. . .” will be released in 2010 January 7.
Until that everything fine but my worry is because the phrase “Rated 15-and-over.” that it has.
What it means this “Rated 15-and-over.”? is what I’ve been asking myself since then. Perhaps Nonamin is going to start a new path into mature audience and you know that when a gravure idol do this the chances to become into JAV are very high.
Maybe is just my imagination but the probability that one of my two favorites GI, Nonamin and Hitomi Aizawa, goes into JAV is not a good surprise at all. Of course that I would like to see her body naked but if the price is what I just said, then not.

I’m not sure what it means. But I did hear/read that this DVD might be coming from a subsidiary label of SOD which is known for its Adult Products. It may even mean that it can’t be shipped out of Japan.
Since I like Nonami Takizawa too ( I’ve reviewed most of her more recent DVDs) I might try to order it. Will advise at a later date.

DMM also lists it as R-15 and worse, amazon does not have it at all, but maybe it is just a confusion on it being from SOD. The real bad news is that by the look of the cover (100% gravure looking) and a recent video clip, it seems Nonami has caught up (or down?) to Yoko’s skinny style of late…
The new Yoko DVD arrived today, While she’s far from robust – she’s not as shockingly thin as she was in Body Scandal. Twop others that also arrived today were the new DVD’s by Sayuki Kanno and Hana Haruna.
I am hoping to receive the new Rui Kiriyama on Monday.

Pretty weird that Nonami’s DVD is not listed in the “Idol Women” sales list at amazon, but if it was, it would be #1.
I don’t know what the manager’s of Sayuri were thinking, launching her in the middle of a sea of “heavy hitters” releases, heck, even Minami Matsuzaka had an IV earlier this week that went unnoticed by most of us!
I’ve only seen Sayuri’s preview… maybe too hot for her own good… that “paws bra” scene (with a teddy bear) is jaw dropping!! She does not seems to have a long gravure career in mind… I think they could have capitalized on the novelty of a new girl with a pretty good body and save the raunchiness for the follow up(s) but what am I to know…
