The Skinny: It’s all in the timing. In Hollywood, they try to open films for maximum impact (Memorial Day weekend, or July 4th weekend, or even Christmas Day for blockbusters). But in Japan, this DVD, went on sale 4 days before the releases of major idols like Miyabi Isshiki, Rio Natsume, and Miri Hanai. Consumer’s yen, and dollars, are very much in demand, so timing is important.
Chapter Menu
Right from the start of the montage, you know this is going to be great DVD. In the first few seconds of the montage, We recognize that we are on the familiar Dreamland beach in Bali. About 2 minutes and 45 seconds later we join Rui on this same beach for an exciting scene as she goes through her paces in an orange bikini.
There’s a few props brought into play. A blue ball, a plastic inflated white seal, and of course, Rui’s huge boobs.
Next, Rui wears a filly white bikini trimmed with aqua. They’ve set her up in a canopied bed trimmed in bamboo. The bed has a blue Balinese coverlet on it and it makes for a nice background for her bikini-clad body. While we are up close to the seductive Rui, the scene ran for two full music tracks, which was a tad long, considering the close quarters.
Next we are back on the beach. They have placed an old wooden bench in such a way that the incoming tidal surge brings the water up to and past the bench.
Soon the wooden bench is abandoned and Rio poses beneath a large beach umbrella. She will apply some sun lotion. At one point, the music track is joined by the local sounds of the sea rushing shoreward. A hand-held bottle of cold water approached. All we see is the bottle. Instead of offering her the bottle to drink from, the water is poured onto her body.
Rui meets us by the pool for the next chapter. There’s underwater footage, and lots and lots of cleavage on display. Watch for the segment when Rui hoists herself up from the pool. An ice cream on a stick is offered to her.
The next chapter is right out of the Nonami Takizawa ‘style-book’. Rui is dressed in a deeply cut lacy top and panties trimmed with white rabbit fur, rabbit ears, stockings, and a bunny tail. This time they feed her a carrot.
Rui showers in the next chapter. Not in what we might call a shower stall. Instead water falls from a bamboo pipe, there are white stones on the floor, and the shutters are made from bamboo slats. As Rui crawls away, we also see that there’s lots of plants and vegetation visible. She wears pink satin trimmed with white lace.
Rui as a school girl follows. She’s on a covered walkway. and later in a room. We are given peeks beneath her skirt, and peeks looking up under her blouse. Soon the navy skirt comes off, as does the sailor shirt top. Rui will pose by getting up a table top to show off her curvy body.
Rui wears a green flowing multi-layered dress in the next chapter. She makes her way down a path to a beach-side shack which ostensibly is used as a massage hut. There’s no massage today. Though the natural lighting is very good, this scene really doesn’t do much beyond offering glimpses of the sides of Rui’s big hooters.
A bath tub scene follows. This is a typical Balinese room for bathing or showering. Moss on the high walls, plants and shrubs, and a a latticed roof to allow in the sunlight. Some liquid soap is poured onto her body from above., and she lathers up. There’s only a couple of inches of water in the tub. Again, the natural lighting makes for a pretty scene, and Rui, sleek and soapy shiny, looks superb.
She’ll step out of the tub and make for a more standard shower with a glass window to press against. This gives us yet another opportunity to see how lush her figure is.
After the bath and shower, Rui joins us on the veranda wearing just a towel. At least it looks that way. Briefly she will hide behind a sofa only to emerge seconds later in a bikini. She’ll do most of her posing lying down on the sofa before perching on a low white wall. She will add some body lotion to close out the scene.
The last of the main chapters follows. As this is an I-One production we know what we’ll get. Yes, a low-light bedroom seduction scene. While Rui’s meager black silk undies are tempting, the scene suffered a bit from the lighting which consisted of a couple of low-wattage table lamps alongside the bed.
The extras include a tee-shirt signing, two and half minutes of behind the scenes, and a 8 signed polaroid images here called Off Shot.
Summary: This DVD should reap the benefits of the early release; but beyond that, it’s just marvelous. Rui is like a new and younger version of Nonami Takizawa. Her figure is similar to Nonami’s and this alone should be enough of a factor to get her a lot of work as a gravure idol.
The DVD itself offers lots of cleavage, and a wonderful Balinese setting. There’s no cooking, dining, shopping or filler. It’s all Rui and her superb shape.
Though many of the scenes were similar, and there were no creative surprises in this DVD, I still can’t find much to criticize. I think Rui is going to be the next big star in the gravure world. Four point five is the rating with a must see recommendation.

I was a bit concerned about Rui after her “Senshi” IV, it looked as if the producers had given up on her doing a DVD with some old scenes and shot in Japan. So watching her back in Bali is encouraging, and I’m also glad that it seems to be an “Old School Gravure” offering, yes, maybe it can be called as lacking in creativity but I’ve grown tired of sticky substances over the girls, scissoring swimsuits, elongated objects being given a job… etc. :p
She does look like a young (Pure Smile era) Nonamin, and I’ll go out a limb and say Rui is even prettier, but Nonami developed from a pretty girl onto an awesomely beautiful lady, and we’ll know about Miss Kiriyama in a couple of years… I’ll up the ante and say that Rui has a baby face-ish cuteness quality to her that puts her also into Rio’s territory… anyways, Rui’s stunning figure and cute face is enough to earn a name for herself!!

When I said ‘lacked creativity’ I didn’t mean that as a negative. The I-One series has long been recognized as the de facto leader in gravure DVDs along with the Takeshobo productions. The new kids in town, Air Control and E-Net Frontier are not really new, but they are newer than I-One and Takeshobo. And these are the outfits that have pushed the envelope, utilizing goos, gels, objects etc.
Meanwhile, when you buy I-One, you know that they will have high production values, that they will put up the models and crews in some of the finer resorts, and the finished products will look good. So what I really meant was that they stick to a wonderful game plan with not a lot of variances. They don’t have to be new or try things out, hence the lack creativity. I really mean – they don’t take chances.
I’ll agree that Rui might be prettier, but Nonami’s career really jumped into gear when she gained some weight. If Rui adds a few more pounds and they go to her bust and hips, she’ll be a worthy successor to Takizawa.

I really, really like Rui, honest I do, and I agree she most definitely could be the next big thing(s). But can you confirm that her breasts are 100% real ? Apart from your screencaps here, I have soooo many pictures where her breasts stand free and sit bolt upright, all stiff and hard looking.
What was your opinion ?

I disagree. But that is just my opinion. But I am without any 1st hand knowledge. High, ful,l and firm are the signs of a youthful woman.
Let’s see how she looks in a year. or two.
So to answer your question, I cannot ‘confirm’ either way.

I’ll be brief. I agree with your review because she is beautiful and has a great body, so, if this is how she’s going to be in the GI world there’s no doubt that she wll be with us a long time.
Also, I see some similarity with the early days of Nonami and your words about the raised popularity of her when she gained weight are very, very true (that was the point of no return for me^^).
I would be glad to get this dvd but my recent purchases of Ms. Aizawa’s dvd’s and my pre-order of both Nonamin uncoming productions let me with nothing of cash (It’s a shame but I couldn’t resist the covers…). By the way, about these last, what do you think?… there’s hopes for great releases like previous “Itazura na Shizen”?, because I do hope for something “big” (or somethings?…^^).

I think Takizawa will continue to turn out good releases. I am troubled by the continued double releases. That means more than 20 scenes and there’s bound to be some less successful than others.
But Takizawa is just doing what Matsugane and Natsume have been doing for years. Double releases.
On the other hand, Hana Haruna did not get a double release, Her most recent was clearly shot at the same time as the previous release (same costume in both) and it wasn’t as good as the one before.
Speaking of pre-ordering, if you buy with a credit card they don’t charge your acct until the items ship.
And yes, the comments about Rui are all very favorable. I really was impressed with her. I hope and it seems inevitable that Air Control and Takeshobo will also offer her deals. In a comment above, Zak asked if I thought Rui was 100% natural. I do think so.
But I can’t guarantee that or certify it. What I can say is that for sure, she’s going to be a star in the gravure world.

Thanks for explaining the differences between the studios, I was under the impression that the raunchiness was taking over the whole gravure world. Rui already released a Pure Smile for Takeshobo, her very first DVD… and then went to E-Net and Aquahouse for her next releases, looking back, those had no goo or blow jobs neither, so I guess it is not in Rui’s personality to do so, or her managers are aware that she has a bright future and are looking for a mainstream career…
Actually, I think some of her pictorials are a bit more risque than her IVs.
As for the 100% natural… well, that and the Japanese cup size system is something the fans will invest countless hours talking about it but with no one having access to any conclusive proof…. I’ve seen pictures of Rui with Chiri Arikawa and others with Miho Takai (the other 2 huge bust U20 girls), both of them a year older and taller/bigger and a bit bustier than Rui herself, and Chiri and Miho’s boobs are more “sit bolt upright, all stiff and hard looking”, of course, every girl is different, but in my mind, Kiriyama has the perfect natural shape (heck, all three are in a reasonable size range, they’re not Hitomi or Fuko -theirs might be real, but I understand people doubting them-) Although I bet the producers know some enhancing tricks, push up bras and maybe that tape that holds breast higher, make up, etc.
Talking about upcoming releases, Hana’s cover for the new disc looks fantastic!! Hopefully, the video will be up to par. I think Nonami should have had a DVD in April to avoid the double releases, but who knows what benefits there is in doing that… this is shaping to be a great summer for gravure idols fans!!

Well sure – there is a decided slope that the gravure world sits on – Air Control seemingly (in an attempt to compete) has offered viewers a more raunchy style. That doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re going to show more skin, and more pseudo-sexual activities it just means that they go further in that direction than does Line Communications/I-One.
It also depends on the star power of the model. Yoko Matsugane has settled into a mode of pushing the envelope. But Nonami Takizawa has not. Miri Hanai seemingly takes more artistic chances than does Rio Natsume. And so forth.
Rui Kiriyama’s birthdate is January 15, 1991 – so she became 18 just this year. So her Pure Smile, and the Vanilla DVDs were made before she was of age meaning she was too young to be connected to anything either suggesting or implying sexual activity. It appears that her management team knows what they have and have done a splendid job of setting her up to become a big time player in the gravure industry. IMHO of course —
