Meguru Ishii – Dewa – Meguru Memories (December 20, 2008)

The Skinny: While not a major star in the gravure industry, Meguru Ishii has been around for at least a few years, and is more than capable of releasing a well performed idol DVD. She’s pleasing to the eyes, has a cute smile, and while not busty, she still has a curvy figure.
The montage which clocks out at 3 minutes 2 seconds, has an uptempo country western music track behind it that makes you tap your feet. It’s always a good sign when a montage immediately gets you involved.
The first of the main chapters opens with some shots establishing that we are out in the country. We also hear the insects enjoying their lives.
We then meet with Meguru in a dress. Looks like a typical Japanese country house as we see a sliding shoji screen doorway and an army of tatami mats on the floor. They’re using a longish zoom lens and have intentionally shortened the depth of field, so the flowers and shrubs in the background are recognizable but somewhat fuzzy. This adds color yet keeps you focused on the model.
The music changes and Meguru steps outside for a moment to open up her dress and show off a red bra and panties set. She then returns back into the house to resume posing on the tatami mats.
Next chapter finds Meguru on the beach. She’ll pick up a double handful of the fine grained sand and let it fall from her hands as if to show us how fine the sand is. Also present are the wildy popular driftwood and the equally popular blue skies.
A Q&A follows, or more accurately, we hear the answers. Seems fairly straightforward.
Back indoors, Meguru gives us a cute posing session in the bedroom. She wears a nice blue top and some pink striped panties. While not especially creative, the scene does have a nice feel to it. You feel as if you’d like nothing better than to spend some time with Meguru in this room.
This is followed by one of my favorite scenes in the movie. Meguru is in a large tiled space, which is likely a big tub for soaking. Only there’s no water. She’s in a stunning, white, one-piece swimsuit.
In the second part of this chapter, she’s climbed out of the empty soaking tub, and is posing against the deep, rich blue of a tiled wall. There’s a wonderful element of color as the white swimsuit and the blue-tiled wall are perfect in contrast. As the scene ends we are just past the halfway point of the video.
Then we go outdoors again. This time they’ve asked Meguru to wear a bold green bikini top to coordinate with green lawns and green leaves. Works for me!
Still out of doors, Meguru wears rich a rich blue ruffled satin slip as she wanders about amongst the trees and shrubs, before heading back inside for more posing.
Still indoors, Meguru poses sweetly and playfully in a bed. She’ll wrap and unwrap herself in the single sheet.
A bubble bath is next. This is an outdoor jacuzzi up on the roof. We can see the traffic drive by below. It’s not really a good scene as they’ve created far more soap bubbles than they need. In fact, Meguru is either covered up to her neck in the soap bubbles, or using her arms to toss the bubbles about. The scene really doesn’t work.
The next scene doesn’t work either. Supposedly it is apres-bath and Meguru is wrapped in a gauzy material. While it clear that she is topless, the angles are all wrong as she’s most showing us her back or laying on her stomach.
The last chapter has Meguru posing in an all white kitchen. It is sleek and modern. But the scene is nothing more than having her spin and twirl.
Summary: The video: Not bad, not great. Just someplace in between. Visually they’ve done a great job, as the colors are good, and the sets fit the model and the action. But the action is the weak point. Meguru doesn’t have enough variation in her moves, and the director didn’t seem to offer much in the way creating some changes. Still it is a nice video. I’ll recommend it but I’ll limit my rating to three point seven five.
