Haruna Yabuki – Lady Iris (August 26, 2005)
Takeshobo
Catalog # 11994 – Region 2 Disc – 4:3 Aspect
Running Time: 50 Minutes

The Skinny: Show me a beautiful woman under some blue skies and I might forgive some sloppy camera work and editing which was the result of a conflict of styles and a lack of communication between the director and the model. More on this later. There was also some overused music as Takeshobo has been known to recycle some of its musical choices. You say to yourself, I’ve seen this before when really…it’s that you’ve heard it before. And that covers the complaints. Once you’ve understood that much, you can really enjoy the frisky Haruna Yabuki in this video entitled Lady Iris.

The montage plays over the bouncy and catchy melody sung by Jennifer Walt whose lyrics include:
Please save us
Las Vegas
This can’t be the end.
I think we got enough for one more bet
tomorrow we can start trying to forget
Yeah, in my mind, Haruna is not someone I’m trying to forget. Rather it seems to be quite the opposite as this model is really so beautiful that she’s someone that you will not forget. I can’t decide if it is her toothesome smile, her lithe body , or just her energy that makes her so compelling to watch.

Ok back to the comment about the conflicting styles; when you have a director who employs a swirling moving camera then it stands to reason that the model adapt to this style and limit her movements. In the same manner, when a model has been asked to move around or spin and twirl, then the camera position must be more fixed.

Why?

Because when the two necessary components are both moving you can be sure that some times the camera will miss her smile or a captivating look because the camera operator has started to swing the camera in an alternate direction.

What can they do to fix it – talk about it first. Or B) edit some of the ‘misses’ out of the finished product.

As you can see from these few images, that with a model like this, you don’t want to miss too often.

Summary: Having made these comments I still cannot say that I didn’t like Haruna’s Lady Iris. I did enjoy watching her again. We’ll score this one at three point seven five and still recommend it.

Hello!
You know what called my atention in the first place?… her face, cause it’s just like my girlfriend’s face! specially when she smiles, they look so similar, it’s really umbelievable ^^.
Well, sorry for what I just wrote ^_-.
About the dvd, I didn’t knew Haruna til now, she’s very beautiful and has a nice body but, as you said before, the lacking skills from the director are evident on some pictures, still, she’s so fresh that you can pass that flaw and continue with the “visual pleasure”.
Her body looks perfect, very well gifted with curves and skin… ñami ^^.
The DVD is 2005… I followed the link and I found that she’s still in the business, do you know her reputation now-a-days? because I think she deserve an chance for a second thought ^^.
Thank you again Mike.
Ah!… sorry for the late but, Happy New Year for you buddy! I hope this 2009 would be the best in every aspect of your life ^^.

Hi Pedro -
Happy New Year to you…
Haruna is still doing idol videos but I think she really wants to get work in Television Series. I’ve seen her in at least three different series. ‘
I wish her well.
You know in Japan, TV is bigger than the movies. And some of the girls who work in the Idol industry try to get into Japanese Television Series and then go on to bigger things. Koyuki went from Japanese TV series to working with Tom Cruise in The Last Samurai.
And Kyoko Hasegawa has a role in a big spy thriller that will be released in April 2009 called Rain Fall. Gary Oldham is also starring in this movie.
And best wishes to your g/f too.
