I am happy that my column reaches fans in Portugal. Thanks for the gracious compliment.

Erina Yamaguchi only did the two DVDs then vanished from the scene. There’s no definitive answer as to why. I have surmised that she was uncomfortable showing off her body, got married and left tghe industry, was difficult to work with. Any or all of these are possible reasons…but in truth I have no way to verify any of it.

Very few of the idols have even attemted to reach western countries…occasionally an idol will show up in Guam or Saipan to shoot a DVD and we find that she may speak some English. But the reality is that most western countries have a preference for the hardcore rather than the gravure style video.

As for interviews with a Japanese model, I haven’t tried. Let me ask you this – have you tried to get an interview with any leaading models in your own country?
Were you able to do so? I think beautiful models anywhere have legios of fans. At least the Japanese models have promo tours when they release a new DVD. Some of them do. If you were in Japan, you might hear of such an event.

By the way, I’ve been to Lisbon in Portugal a number of years ago. Right now I’ve no current plans to return to Europe….thanks for the offer.

I am from Portugal and i´ve been a fan of your work for a few years. Simply brilliant!
I’m not a consumer of the DVD’s, but i love the girls. My favorite was Erina Yamagudhi. What happened to her?
Why the Idol Queens don’t travel to conventions on the western world?They have a lot of fans in Europe and in the US. Is that a japonese complex?
They might seel more DVD’s abroad than in Japan, right?
Why is so difficult to get interviews with them?The language barrier can’t explain everything…

Thanks for the comments Michael. Your support is appreciated. As for Rio-chan, let’s give her a world of credit for maintaining her splendid figure. I don’t think Rio is ‘pretty’ in the classical sense either. But I do think she is pleasing to look at.

As for taking criticism for your comments, I’d rather think that you won’t. Every model has ardent supporters; all of whom should be able to perceive that no matter how highly they think of their own favorites, other people rate others higher. In your case, you’ve been a supporter of Natsume-san’s DVDs despite not believing she’s ‘pretty’. So that surely counts as well.

I’ll no doubt take a serious amount of criticism for this comment, but I have never found Rio to be even close to being “pretty”.
That said, her lack of facial beauty (to my eyes) has never deterred me from buying her DVDs (I have 23 at last count).
Believe it or not, it’s her pleasant and bubbly personality that keeps me coming back for more time after time.
Well, that and the monstrously massive boobs on an otherwise petite (and very fit) body.
And although I wouldn’t rate this as one of Rio’s finest, I think a score of 3.0 is a bit low.
In fairness to your review, you did state that “Rio’s fans can get enjoyment” from this disc.
And this Rio fan did.
