The Skinny: Time to crank up the Look Back Machine. Hiroko Sato performed in Truth for Girls Record some time ago. The release date was March 25th, 2005 – so the DVD is nearly three years old. Given that Hiroko has been fairly busy acting in TV serials, and hasn’t released a new Idol video since early in 2007 (I Hold Nothing), I thought we’d take a look this one which is one of her earlier idol DVDs.
Actually in retrospect, I’m glad to be able to share this with you as it is very good.
Set in Thailand, at the Jomtien Garden Hotel & Resort near Pattaya, this is an dreamy video filled with sunny blue skies, lots of bikinis, and lush tropical locales all of which highlight Hiroko’s charms. As it snowed in New York yesterday, this is a welcome treat for me to ‘return’ to Thailand.
Hiroko will cavort in the sea (actually the Gulf of Siam), hang out in the hotel’s empty lobby, shoot at a pistol range, and generally look gorgeous no matter what she is doing.
The director, Kimihiro Shima, has opted for Hiroko’s beauty to be the main focus of the DVD.
In 2008 Idol DVD directors seem more willing to push the envelope. They more often than not will go for the ‘thrills’ like more focus on crotch, ass, and boobs rather than let the natural charms of a model’s smile and overall figure be the central theme. This was not the case in early 2005 when this video was released.
It is my view that three years ago, the DVD’s released were kinder and gentler. Much more wholesome. I like this DVD because Hiroko’s beautiful face gets plenty of focus. And she certainly can carry a video on looks alone. No need for edginess or risque posing.
One other fact. The structure of this DVD is different than the usual fare as the Interview chapter is split into two segments. Additional in a couple of cases, during the main body of chapters, you will see the crew working with Hiroko.
The photogrpaher snaps away, often changing cameras on the fly. The make up and hair stylists jump in to make minor adjustments during these quick breaks. You’ll see how the model and crew successfully interact during the DVD rather than at the end.
Summary: No need for a full review. I’m sure you can get the full flavor of Hiroko from what I’ve written and showed you. This DVD is highly recommended for Hiroko Sato fans, as well as for fans of the gravure style videos. Hiroko is a world class beauty, and with this DVD, you will enjoy watching her. Four point zero.
