70 Minutes

The Skinny: A very intriguing model in an interesting DVD is the best way to describe this new release from Juicy Fruit. Minako Egawa has not attracted a lot of attention but she is quietly building what could be a very successful career as a gravure idol. Healing Bust is not a perfect video, but it warrants praise in addition to your notice and appreciation.

The montage was a bit overdone with too many editorial gimmicks like blurred edges, transitions from color to b&w and back to color, shimmers, and so forth. But the opening shot of the main chapters is amazing. Clearly it is a beach as we can see the ocean, but the stones, and rocks make it seem like a moon-like setting.

Minako looks tempting in her striking bikini. The landscape is amazing and I think the director is quite enamored of the closeup; be it face, bust, or the model’s booty.

The second scene moves indoors for a bedroom location. You can see the care and art that went into this setting. Check out the colors, the lights, and even the rich bed coverings. I’m not slighting Minako either. Her hair has been adjusted as well as her make-up for this segment. The music playing beneath this scene is a soft piano with strings ensemble, and it fits the tempo. Altogether, this is a superb chapter.

Next we find our selves back at the beach with Minako. She adorned in a pink faux-leopard skin bikini. Actually we are above the beach higher up on a rocky point looking out over the beach or lunar-scape if you prefer.

Minako spends most of the time wriggling while sitting on one of those large beach balls. The director takes his time zooming in for closeups of her boobs, crotch, and tail. For the last few moments, Minako has removed her bikini top and covers her bust with her hands. More closeups ensue.

Back at the hotel Minako makes use of one of those electronic mechanical seats. We’ve seen other idols utilize them so this is not a new type of action scene. Minako wears a yellow tee-shirt and shorts. She ‘ride’ the seat for a while, then take off her shirt and covers her boobs with a glittery scarf. This is followed by some upright posing in front of the window. Sort of a ho-hum scene.

As you may have guessed, the next scene continues with the at-the-beach-then-away sequence. Minako comes out in a ‘statement’ pink bathing suit which appears to be missing key areas of coverage. Of course this is the design and the sole purpose of such a costume is to make a statement. What do you think ?

The next chapter is a tongue-in-cheek play-acting scene. “We” are supposed to be studying as a student should. Instead we are looking at skin magazines. Just about then our ‘teacher’, Ms. Egawa enters the room. We are busted, or so it seems.

Our punishment? Minako takes off her clothes ! We should all be so lucky!!

By now you should know a beach scene will follow. An so it does. Minako sports a plain vanilla – by the numbers – white bikini. The art director correctly ascertained that a strong dose of reality was required at this juncture.

This beach scene doesn’t have a lot gimmicks to it. No, it is straightforward and done quite well. I’m beginning to get very fond of this particular shoreline. Amen!

Back at the hotel, Minako must shower after her posing at the beach. Her bikini is discarded for the slip she wore in an earlier scene. While this is a gravure idol shower scene, it avoids many of the cliches like pressing against a glass shower door.

Maybe this is because there isn’t a door. Nonetheless, it is a remarkably well done scene with beautiful clarity, pacing, and texture.

Do we go back to the beach next? Even though she just rinsed off the beach remnants from earlier? Well sort of. It’s a cove created by an inlet through the rocks. We’ve seen this (above) before as well. I think Yoko Matsugane, Rio Natsume, and even Nonami Takizawa have all done scenes here. This however is the first one marred by a hula hoop.

However this is just an interlude, running only for a brief couple of minutes. Minako is only marginally better than some of her gravure counterparts in keeping the hoop in motion. More often than not they have to utilize the hoop as a prop not in motion for the colors. As they did in this segment.

After the rocky cove fades out, a bedroom seduction scene begins. Mianako is dressed to the nines, or should I say undressed in an elegant sexy costume guaranteed to make any man’s heart quicken it’s pace. I defy you to show me any man that doesn’t like a soft golden satin combined with black lace trim; which is what our girl is wearing for our pleasure (above).

Once again I must credit the director as well as the art director for the beautiful look to this scene. Not only does the model look awesome, but the combination of colors, light and shadow, and they way they’ve gotten the gorgeous skin tones is most commendable.

The last chapter is of course, back at the sea cove. While the images are superb I thought this last chapter was a tad mis-designed. Minako wears a skimpy silver bikini under a green-ish shirt and dark blue cut off jeans. There was a lot of tease in the mix as she took her time removing her shirt. She never did remove the shorts and so, we didn’t get to see the thong or t-back bikini bottoms. Aside from this it was a luxurious scene and this marked the conclusion of the main chapters.

A fair-to-middling Making of segment followed. This ran about for nearly 10 minutes bringing the total DVD package to about 70 minutes. The making of is interesting because you get to see the interaction between the model and the crew. However the closeups were a problem in this section, as there was very little besides closeups.

Summary: Another well made idol DVD from Juicy Fruit. This is only JCF-13, so I think they’re not in a rush therefore they put out a superb line of idol DVDs. You could point out the near over-use of closeups in the main chapters, and the constancy of the alternating scene locales – beach and non-beach. But you’d be hard pressed to find more to dislike. I must give them judos on this release, and a well meant BRAVO.

I recommend this DVD to you my readers, and I hope we will have an opportunity to see Ms Egawa again in future releases. Four point zero is the score.
