The Skinny: This is a rather mundane and disappointing effort from For-side called Purin Ala Mode starring the lush bodied Hitomi Kitamura. After a high spirited montage Hitomi goes through her paces but the DVD goes nowhere.
I’d not fault the model for the flatness of this DVD, rather I’d say that For-side stinted on the production values, and the direction leaves a lot to be desired.
Sorry folks, as the main chapters begin, we are on a beach; it’s gray skies, and apparently the water is cold as Hitomi shows us a shiver or two and a decided unwillingness to submerge in these waters. Of course this doesn’t mean she isn’t having a good time. And so will you in this opening stanza, especially when she wiggles her fanny.
The second and third chapters are basically Hitomi at play. In two she wears a bandeau top and tight bottoms that accentuate her bust and her ass. Hitomi is asked to make use of various apparatus usually found in a children’s playground. The see-saw, the swing, the slide and the jungle-gym all come into play. The park is rundown with weather beaten wood, and stained metal. No parent in their right mind would allow their kids to make use of this equipment.
Three has Hitomi in cut-off jeans for shorts and a red patterned tropical shirt tied up under her boobs to create a bare-midriff look. Hitomi plays at doing the limbo. She’s not too adept at getting under the bar, but she looks cute doing so.
The 4th Chapter finds Hitomi on an outdoor basketball court. There’s good news and bad news. The bad news is that she’s not particularly good at shooting the ball. The good news is that she’s wearing a cut-down tank top and no bra – a garment that most women wouldn’t wear period much less to play basketball in. Ah, the wonders of two-sided tape.
An interview follows. Hitomi wears a yellow blouse and talks about sports. Then an outdoor shower. She wears a see-through top over an orange bikini. It was more like – “Hey watch me while I get wet,” than anything special. The highlight of the scene is that Hitomi will have a shower-head in each hand.
In Seven, Hitomi wears a bra and panties and will roll around in bed. While artistically the scene might have been better planned with regard to colors, camera angles, and lighting – it worked fine on a sensual level. Hitomi looked quite sexy in an understated way.
The next scene was on the coast. Hitomi was adorned in a one piece golden bathing suit. As you can see, there’s not much to this bathing suit. While the views of the coast were fine, this ‘costume’ forced Hitomi into basically a series of stationary poses against the rocks. Any kind of motion may have caused her to spill out the bathing suit. And the lack of sun didn’t help. Nor did the fact the she looked a bit ill-at-ease.
How about Hitomi in a bra and panties? That’s next. Sexy lingerie and stockings, and she’s posed against a white brocaded bamboo sofa. Too bad the scene was only four minutes. Check out Hitomi’s curves in this shot below.
After that they thought we needed a scene with less allure. So it is back to the playground where Hitomi can crawl around in a tubular piece of playground apparatus.
But they dressed Hitomi is brief panties and a cut-down tee shirt, so if anything, this was even more alluring than the prior lingerie scene as her fabulous derriere got plenty of prime coverage and closeups.
Next we are back indoors. Hitomi is rolling around again. This time on another sofa. This is tiresome. The model should do more than just remain in one place throughout the entire scene. Maybe the director got the same idea as he finally gets Hitomi to stand up, as if she’s top come out of this lethargic state. After a few smiles, she plunks herself back down on the sofa. Fade out. Despite Hitomi’s enticing figure, this scene was weak.
Hitomi sports a big knit sweater, a woolen stocking cap, and a multi-colored scarf in the next scene. No, there’s no snow, nor is the a hike into the forest. No this is Hitomi bouncing around on a bed.
Ultimately she will take a scissors and cut the sweater down. We’ve seen Rio Natsume and Miri Hanai in similar get ups. We can reward Hitomi for her energy in this scene, and take points away from the director for this totally derivative scene.
For the extra features there’s a slide show, and a Special Movie segment which was actually more of a making of segment.
Summary: I like Hitomi Kitamura. She’s sexy, curvy, and knows how to attract the viewers. But this DVD wasn’t the least bit special except for the ass-wiggle shots. But hey, I could have done as well with those. As I said up above – this wasn’t a great DVD.
Three point zero is the best I can do for a rating. Watch for Hitomi’s next DVD, as yet untitled, which is due for release in a month.
I see you corrected the title. Her next release (on March 21st, along with releases from Matsugane Yōko, Takeuchi Nozomi and Takizawa Nonami – gonna be an expensive day for me) is called Tappuri Purin A La Mode also released by For-Side, so I would suspect more of the same – probably filmed at the same time with the same crew.
I’d agree this wasn’t one of her better discs, but it was still watchable. She’s had kind of a mediocre run for her last few DVDs (Sweetie was okay and Hit Me! was poor at best), so maybe her next one will propel her back to the glory days of Yawaraka Na Hitomi.

March 21st – a banner day for all of Japan’s DVD retailers – and an expensive days for guys like us. Mayve we need to wean ourselves off these long running A-Class idols like Yoko, Hitomi, Nonami, and Nozomi – the more DVDs they release – the less likely they are too really thrill us. This one is an excellent example of the law of diminishing returns.
I was glas to read on Gijo that Natsume Rio’s latest (just released) looks good. I haven’t ordered yet but will do so.
