The Skinny: The tiny yet ever so busty Mizuki Horii stars in a hour’s worth of eye-candy from the For-side/Cutie label. There’s nothing to think about, she says nothing until the behind the scenes segment in the extras, and she really doesn’t do much at all. In short, this DVD is lovely to look at, but you may find that you will nod off as they ask so little of you. In the extras, there’s a minute and a half of Mizuki running around in a martial arts get-up. This counts as action but it goes by so fast, it is nearly over before it registers.
In one scene, Mizuki is dressed as a standard issue Japanese high school girl (Mizuki is 21 will be 22 in April). She stands in a bathtub and holds a working shower head. She doesn’t do a thing except stand beneath the falling water. Occasionally she will lift her skirt slightly showing off a portion of her panties. Don’t even think about seeing any soap.
In another scene, the bikini clad Mizuki goes into a swimming pool and moves her arms as if she were swimming, only we can see her walking not swimming.
In the opening scene following the montage, we find Mizuki on an Okinawan beach walking beneath some shoreline rocks. She will stand with her arms above her head as if holding up the rocks. Otherwise she hardly moves as the camera circles around her.
The director obviously chose to not challenge the model, nor the viewers of this DVD. Hello…give us something to think about! Give the model something to do.
Having her ascend a staircase in a white bikini on her hands and knees might show off her butt to good advantage, but hardly constitutes a creative bit of film making.
Okay – she’s not anchored to a single spot on the ground. She rides a see-saw, we find her in a tree, wearing angel wings, blowing soap bubbles, she wears a perfectly good waitress uniform and proceeds to walk about waist-deep into the sea and stands there.
And yes, she manages to show off a good amount of cleavage whenever possible except for one scene where she wears a one-piece bathing suit.
I love the model. She’s got a cute face, big big eyes, and an amazingly big bust for a woman who stands less than five feet tall. They ferried her and the crew out to Okinawa and they came home with enough footage to create a DVD and bring it to market. Now they have my money.
What they don’t have is a DVD worthy of a lengthy review, or a real positive recommendation. If you are a fan of Mizuki, then you will enjoy her again but if you’ve seen more than a few of her DVD’s, then there’s no need to see this one.
Three point two five is the rating based on Mizuki’s beauty, and the sharp images. But a successful DVD must show us a lot more creativity than simply pointing a camera at a pretty girl while she stands around doing very little; often as little as just laying on her back.
