The Skinny: Hitomi Tanaka is a sensational new model. This Cutie & Honey production has exceeded hopes. Generally, it is one thing to find a model with a shape like this; it is an all together different thing to produce a competent DVD or better yet, an exceptional DVD with a fresh and new model.
From the day the world first found out about Hitomi on the Internet, until the day the DVD was released, November 8th, she’s been a topic of interest and conversation. Now that I’ve had a chance to look at the video, I’m more than to pleased to join the bandwagon.
The Menu lists 8 chapters, written in Japanese script with no pictures to give an idea about the setting. But the 8 chapters have 18 sections or segments, so the settings do change. In total, there’s 70 minutes and no extras of any kind. There’s not even Opening or Closing credits. You mean to say that no one who worked on this DVD wants their name connected to it? Maybe this was just an oversight.
OK, let’s get started. The high energy montage was assembled to make you instantly aware of how busty Hitomi is. Then, there she is on the street in front of a townhouse, umbrella in hand, she waits for something. Next thing you see is Hitomi inside this house sitting on a wooden staircase wearing some sort of a checked top and a very short white skirt. I don’t think she even tells us her name before giving us her measurements.
The top and the skirt do come off, as expected, and she’s in a white bikini. She poses on these steps. And in this scene, you see a few looks from Hitomi towards an off-screen presence. No doubt this is the director, and Hitomi is looking for assurances that she’s doing well or guidance; this is a sure sign of a newcomer.
Next we find Hitomi outside (just briefly) in a white karate outfit. Soon she’s inside. She will show us a black belt, with orange Japanese lettering on it. A few kicks, and then she has discarded to the upper part of the karate workout outfit revealing the white bikini top.
She will then do some more kicks, and we are treated to the sight of the kicks and punches in slow motion, allowing us to see the wobble and jiggle of her huge boobs. This was done very well. The emphasis was on her bust rather than the punches.
Three has Hitomi in a men’s white shirt and tie, black panties and a fedora. After some enticing looks upward from knee level, she will take off the white shirt. Now she’s looking good in a black bikini, the tie, and the fedora.
The walls are red, and we get a good look at her butt. This scene then moves to the living room couch where Hitomi get a massage.
The hands are really not giving a massage. To me it looks like they wanted to have someone play with those huge boobs. The hands and arms look like they are a woman’s. It’s mostly a good opportunity for you to imagine that these hands are yours. And from this perspective, Hitomi is certainly enjoying having her boobs handled/fondled as well.
Off we go to the kitchen in the next chapter. First a topless Hitomi poses prettily using her hands to attempt to cover her breasts.
Then she has the top on and will weigh her boobs on one of those kitchen scales that weighs items in grams. These are not the best scales for this purpose. As she leans forward to weigh the right breast, it looks like she’s got more than a little forward lean – and the scale displays a reading of almost 1400 grams. When she does the left boob, the scale barely nudges past 800 grams. Yes it is true, that never do a woman’s boobs weigh exactly the same, and yes on Hitomi, the right one looks slightly larger than the left, but NOT NEARLY DOUBLE THE SIZE OR WEIGHT.
Just as quickly the scale event is over and done with as Hitomi attempts to use her boobs to squeeze a lemon. If you were expecting the lemon to explode, you’d be wrong. Lemons are pretty tough customers, and Hitomi was only able to get some soft squirts.
After that weigh-in, and the few rounds with the lemon, we’re still in the kitchen. What to do? Some sexy poses, especially those when Hitomi fondles her own boobs. The she will remove the top completely and while her right arm provides a shield so we can’t see her chest, at least can’t see much of it,she will apply some sour cream to her upper chest. Well, it runs down to you know where, and is symbolic of you know what.
For my money this is a waste of a good amount of minutes. I’d rather just see the model walking around in a bikini or in her bra and panties. But some outfits like to proffer the pseudo-sexual rather than just the straight forward gravure style scenes.
When that bit of tedium ends, we find Hitomi dressed in a tight sheath dress made of a pink knit fabric. This pose, she’s just standing in front of the wall is one of the best moments on the DVD. This form fitting, snug, accentuate the curves type of dress will certainly get your attention. Have a look at the startling images above and below.
Unfortunately they feel that just a simple tight dress is NOT enough. She will fondle her boobs. Fine. Or show off her butt. Great. But is it necessary for her to be kneeling on this extremely squeaky bed to bounce and make her jugs wobble and jiggle.? Sure I like to watch that type of action, but they might have found a better way. The bed was way too squeaky.
But when she gets out the bottle of the clear gooey gel, and starts to rub it all over herself without taking off the dress, you may feel that you are no longer watching a gravure idol DVD. This segment is 100 times more sexy. Eventually, Hitomi will be take off her panties and while sitting on the bed, showing us how sticky her hands are, she will show us the panties. Fade out.
The ante is upped even further in the next chapter. Hitomi is decked out in a black and white leather bustier complete with grommets and a black chord keeping the rig together. The natural accompaniment of leather-ish panties, black fishnet stockings, and high heels completes the ensemble.
There’s the standard posing that a lush-bodied model will do,then she climbs into the empty, waterless bath tub where she will entertain a banana in her awesome cleavage. The banana, nestling in between her big boobs is then given a tongue job. From off screen (above) some yogurt is dripped onto the banana. We get it, a simulated b.j. But wait – there’s more.
Next the creamy white stuff is dripped onto Hitomi’s breasts and then her panties. Another pseudo-sexual male climax. I can see, in my mind’s eye, Rin Aoki doing this in the Eight Series. But she did a basket-ful of gravure DVD’s before graduating to this style. On the other hand, this is Hitomi’s first DVD. Where does she go from here?
The next scene has Hitomi wearing a blue tank top and a denim skirt. She’s sitting on a bed. Someone is poking her boobs with a bottle of some sort of wine cooler. OK. Lets lift up the tank top, let’s hike up the denim skirt and show off the bold orange bikini beneath.
In another of those simulated paizuri (titty-fuck) scenes, Hitomi will have the opened bottle nestled in her boobs, and she’ll run her tongue over the business end of the bottle before pouring a drink for someone with the bottle still snuggled in between her huge bombs.
After that, Hitomi will start to moan and groan while squeezing her tits. Up on her hands and knees to show off her butt and then her tits follows.
Then a spirited simulated POV fuck scene with Hitomi on top as she humps a pillow. If only it were you, or even better – me!
While the views are spectacular to say the least, you will be stunned by watching these magnificent hooters dangle, wobble, and jiggle seemingly inches away from your face.
The kind of in-your-face style that you never see in gravure. So near, yet so far. Now you will understand the meaning of the ultimate tease.
Hitomi works with a fire engine red pole next. She’s wearing a pink faux leopard skin bikini.
She’ll hug the pole with her boobs, then move on to a white leather chair to show off her butt.
Finally she settles into the chair. Some one approaches with some some sort of device which blows air very strongly; so strongly that it makes indentations in her tits. Invisible and powerful are jets do not create a particularly exciting image, and it is hardly flattering.
Hitomi wearing the same suit is next standing in the shower. This time it is an oil that is poured over her.
And as always, she will press her boobs against the shower door. She never does turn on the shower. Fade out.
Then we get a short coda to end the DVD. Hitomi is telling us that she hopes we like her DVD. Thanks and wave bye-bye. And that’s it. No extras of any kind.
Summary: A fabulous body. There’s no denying it. If you’re a tit-man you must have this DVD. But some will say that this is way beyond gravure and it is porn. I think it is definitely beyond gravure, and the obvious question is what’s next for Hitomi. I’m sure you can’t watch this DVD with your family. I’m sure you won’t to watch with anyone. More than likely you will be busy entertaining Mrs. Palm and her five daughters. This is definitely NOT your pretty girl in a bikini on the beach DVD.
Hitomi has the looks and the killer body that you won’t see very often. I think there’s no question we will see more of her. This is a leggy busty goddess who might remind you of Harumi Nemoto. I’m going to score this DVD quite highly despite the over use of the pseudo-sexual themes. On the other hand, you can’t watch this woman and NOT have sexual thoughts in your own head. And this is just the beginning of her career. Will she flame like a bright comet then crash and burn never to be seen again like Erina Yamaguchi, or will her star rise toward greater success?
My colleague Zatoichi says that in Japan, even the best and most popular big bust gravure models like Yoko Matsugane, Rio Natsume, and Harumi Nemoto, at best are minor celebrities. And they can go unnoticed, or unrecognized in the streets. Maybe. But when Hitomi Tanaka passes men in the street – heads will turn. She will be noticed. Four point five zero.

Great review! I found it quite thorough and your observations were almost identical to my own. I have heard various rumblings as to what comes next for Hitomi; I heard one claim that on her blog she denies any possibility of a topless or full AV/porn shoot in the future. I can’t confirm or deny that, I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Personally, so long as she continues releasing anything I’ll be happy!

Thanks for the review. This was definitely one of the most anticipated DVD in quite some time for obvious reasons. Hitomi simply has one of the most spectacular bodies I’ve ever seen and definitely my favorite japanese model ever. The screen caps above speak for themselves and having seen the DVD, it only confirms this even more. That being said I also agree with most of what you’re saying. I definitely would have preferred a more traditional gravure idol type video which I find a lot sexier and appealing. At least she’s not doing dildo Score type videos which I really find unappealing. There are still plenty of totally amazing scenes to make this a must have for any real big bust fan. Again, just can’t get over how amazing her body is! Like you say, I really hope she won’t follow in the footsteps of Erina Yamaguchi.

I’m not going to bother commenting on the review as we are obviously far apart in opinion regards to the content, although I think we generally agree that Tanaka Hitomi has a lot of potential.
Anyways, I just want to clarify that last statement you attributed to me: while its true that idols, with few exceptions, aren’t in the mainstream public consciousness, there is a certain segment of the population who most definitely would recognize them. Harumi is relatively main stream, but say Matsugane Yōko to someone and you’ll probably get a blank look. Idols do appear and are popular in the tabloids and sports rags, but my point was they generally do not usually have the immediate recognition factor as other mainstream entertainters.
And just FYI, the chapter titles are (in order): mizugi, karate, massage, kitchen, lotion, bondage, bed and oil.
@Yoko&HitomiLover: Aoki Rin said she’d never do porn… look at her now. Given her the content of her debut, her awkwardness in front of the camera when it comes to glamour scenes and the fact they have already had to air brush nipples out of some of her promotional photos… let’s just say I think this is a shrewd business move on Hitomi’s (or her agency’s) part – build up anticipation. I’ve read through some of her blog, but haven’t come across that post though.

Hey Z – you said the Hitomi DVd was good – but you called it porn. I thought it was very good but didn’t call it porn. But I did say one wouldn’t ask his wife and daughter to join him to watch this one. I wonder now that I see that Yoko is doing simulated sex which still requires imagination – if you will call her DVDs porn.
I think Hitomi Tanaka will attract men on many levels. And if she goes the way of Rin Aoki then she will be 180 degrees opposite of of the route Erina Yamaguchi took that being right out of the industry.
The comments from Linsey_fan and Y&HL seem to indicate what you and I both have said – that she’s someone to keep an eye on… I imagine that her next release will have a masterful publicity campaign in advance of release.
These models have to walk a narrow line – go too far and you fall away from any future in mainstream -TV/Movies. But when Rio and Yoko stay away too long, two things happen – they mature and when they return, they apparently have to be more willing to get edgy.
A puzzle for sure – one thing I think is certain: Tanaka’s next DVD sales should skyrocket.

I don’t think the comparison to Yōko’s current direction is necessarily valid: while certainly much raunchier than her pre-2006 releases, they don’t have anywhere near the levels of base sexuality which is evident on this disc. Even the most suggestive scenes in Ultimate, Kindan or one of the Chichi discs do not have the same level of explicitness as the majority of Bakunyū J No Shōgeki. That’s not to say Yōko could’t go down the same path eventually.
I suppose it depends on how one defines porn: for me, it’s an erotic work with little or no artistic value, which defines the majority of the disc. I would say this is what separates Yōko’s current path from Hitomi’s debut – there are elements on her releases which go beyond titillation in Yōko’ stuff, even simple things like basic compostion of the shots which contrast the figure of the model with background, the lighting in scene or setting a mood which is not nescessarily sexual in nature, but could be energetic, happy, melancholy, etc. I found that here, the camera work was generally limited to shove the lense as close as possible into Hitomi’s tits, ass or crotch.
That would be my major grievance against porn: generally speaking, its boring at worst, utilitarian at best. Same applies here – Hitomi is fantasic looking, but basically comes off as a masturbatory aid. Nothing wrong with that if that’s the career and image she wants, but not exactly what I’m looking for in an idol disc.

Okay fair enough – one man’s porn is another man’s raunchy. It’s all a matter of degree. There are numerous beautifully shot videos that are truly pornographic, and there are numerous idol discs with zero porn elements that have little or no artistic merit.
I will amend my comment/thought about Hitomi’s DVD. I did say it was more gravure than porn and that was because there was no nudity or true sex. And I did say that despite the lack of nudity or sex, one might still feel very uncomfortable about showing this DVD at a family gathering.
Obviously I am agreeing that the intent of the production is to do more than train a camera on a great looking woman with big breasts. Yes we can read the intent to be something other than what we expect from an idol disc.
But isn’t that where Japan is heading…Rio and Yoko are actually amping up their quotient of strongly charged material meaning sexually charged, rather than, “doesn’t she look great in a bikini?”
In my review of the Matsugane DVD Hojo I was amazed at the scene in the bathtub where Yoko apparently is going through the motions of sex with the unseen person. Then I am even more amazed in your review of Kindam, to find that we have a similar scene in that DVD.
As your words say, Yoko ‘mounts’ us. In short, a simulated sex scene. Just like what Tanaka does. And in Hojo, there sure are a number of shots of Yoko’s crotch. The difference between Tanaka’s crotch and Yoko’s is the matter of padding. I did not detect any ‘camel toe’ in the Hojo DVD.
Of course the elements of gooey slimy dripping stuff cheapens the experience. I don’t care for that any more than I do the ice creams on a stick and lollypops that have been done ad nauseum. For my money, if I never saw another pseudo bj, I’d be happy. So when the Tanaka DVD included those elements, it was a bit annoying.
I guess our real difference is that in Tanaka, I didn’t let the ‘porn’ elements really intrude on my enjoyment, or be a bother – and you did. On the other hand, in Hojo, I found the illusion of sex in the shower a shock, but you labeled Kindam, with a similar element, a must see.
Life goes on. Lets all hope that the Miyabi Isshiki DVD due out on Dec 21st is a winner!

Fabulous stuff you’re doing. I’d given up on finding any Fuko until Wikipedia linked Fuko to this site. And now there is Hitomi and Miyabi. Who’d a thought all these great girls were so hard to find. Great work in bringing them to the West.
When Hitomi weighs her breasts it’s more novelty than trying to get actuals, but when dealing with spheres, and those are heavenly spheres, the cube law applies – if Hitomi’s right breast is just 50% wider than the left the cube rule says the volume is 1.95 – call it double – that of the left and would weigh twice as much.
Anyway, I’m looking forward to trawling through those archives and am staggered that these beauties have been kept cloistered in the land of the rising sun so long.

Japan certainly does have its attractions. Actually this version of my column began in August 0f 2006. But Also on Video has been published on the net since late 1997. I’m fairly certain that I wasn’t lookiong at Japanese video that far back.
I think I first gained some attraction in the days when Anna Ohura first came to public notice and on the gravure side – Yoko Matsugane, Harumi Nemoto, Megumi, and Rio Natsume back around summer of 2003.
