Akari – Cutie Bust (2007)

The Skinny: 106 minutes, 96 cms. – a nice ratio. Nice looking model with an impressive figure. This is her 3rd appearance on our pages. Akari did one solo DVD – Love Balloon, and she co-starred with Yuna Matsuda in Bakunyu. In case you were wondering, Juicy Fruits seems to be concentrating on stacked models, having already released DVDs with Fuko, and Miyabi Iishiki.

The opening chapter finds Akari in an apartment somewhere. She wears a ruffled top and panties over a pink bikini. There’s a few prop balloons visible and they will come in to play later in the scene. But for the most part, Akarai doesn’t do much except hold a position while the camera is in tight. Though well lighted and edited effectively, the camera is in too close too often, and a model must do more than just have an opportunity to smile at the camera.

Scene Two is an interview. Or if it isn’t, the we have a woman sitting in a chair talking to us. The camera doesn’t move an inch through out the entire scene. But it is an interview as the questions appear on the bottom of the screen in Japanese script. This scene runs a wee bit more than six minutes, and is a waste of time visually.

Scene three finds Akari at a swimming pool high above the Tokyo(?) streets. I’ve seen this pool before as Marina Matsushima and Shouko Goto performed here in the JAV DVD Fetish World. Akari wears a light blue bikini with a striped jersey over it. Again, she’s not ask to do much except sit, stand, or lay down on a towel in a single spot as the camera provides the motion.

But eventual she does go into the pool and the camera goes into the water with her. She swims a bit, tries to keep a balloon in the air, though we never quite see it, and she will also use a clear plastic tube to stay afloat. The underwater perspectives are fun and give us a good look at how beautiful her body really is.

When Akari waves bye-bye at us we are at the 25 minutes mark of the 66 minutes total for the DVD. The chapter that follows has Akari walk into the scene wearing a skimpy thong faux leopard skin bikini. It’s really a costume as it also includes a tiara with faux leopard skin ears. There’s a wonderful hardwood floor and a modern red sofa with a lamp on the floor behind it. Akari will lay down on the sofa to get us started.

Two minutes later, she will rise up on her knees. Again the camera does all the work. This is the 3rd straight scene where the model stay put. She’ll lift her arms to squeeze her boobs together, or she’ll use her hands to cup her boobs. While there’s no denying that Akari has an exciting body, there’s also no denying that method of how they’re presenting her to us is definitely not dynamic, and not even close to being exciting.

Chapter Five has Akari sitting on a molded plastic chair. Her costume is glittering with sequins and rhinestones. When the camera goes in a yet another closeup we can see that beneath her top she’s got some sort of huge pasties on her breasts. Fortunately they get off the chair much quicker than you’d have thought. Standing in front of a door, she gets her hands under the costume and hold her boobs. Then she turns her back to us and wiggles her butt for nearly two minutes. She has broad smile on her face, maybe she also realizes the utter absurdity of this scene.

Chapter six has Akari in a white molded chair with a red interior. You know this kind of chair – it has its own roof. You not only sit on it, but also you sit in it because it surrounds you. She’s wearing the same outfit that she had worn for the interview. She’s also sporting a pair of floral pasties on her otherwise bare breasts.

Once again the direction is exactly the same – Miss Akari – just stay seated. We’ll tell you when to take off the scarf.

At 41:31 the scarf is off. Akari uses her arms to squeeze her boobs together. At 42.01 the scarf is back on. At 42:54 the scarf is off again.

Chapter 7 has Akari in a room with a huge crystal light fixture. She’s wearing pink boxing gloves, a yellow see-through top, gold lame panties, and star pasties beneath the top. Finally we get some action. Akari shadow boxes throwing lots of punches our way. When she tires, they say, okay, tug your top down so your boobs [with the pasties] are exposed. Ultimately the top comes off completely and she waves it around. Then something new. Akaris is asked to bend over and show off her butt.

But soon she is just seated on the floor with ker knees up. Of course this position totally obscures her body. Fade out.

Chapter Eight. Akari in a black mesh top, a rhinestone choker, and some different and colorful star pasties. She’s seated on black leather couch, and the background is dark. Right.

She doesn’t move.

Until they ask her to get up on hands and knees. This time we do get an interesting series of shots featuring Akari’s mesh covered butt.

But only for so long. They’re soon back to having her squeeze her boobs together with her arms. Then – another new shot Akari lies on the couch on her back. Her arms are raised to above her head. Then a shocking event -

Hands appear. They rip open the mesh top. The massage the large breasts taking care not top disrupt the pasties. A gel is dripped onto Akari’s chest. The massage continues. The skin glistens. Next her legs are given the same treatment.

What’s most interesting is how Akarai responds to this. Since she doesn’t move at all – we are left to deduce her state of mind strictly from her face. At times she looks repulsed, at times, she’s struggling not to laugh, and once in a while she looks like she really enjoying it. I’ll not guess at what her overall reaction was. But it is fun to watch the changes cross her face.

A bikini clad Akari is next in a bathroom. She’s going to climb into a bathtub. She wears a beautiful red and blue plaid bikini. A bath is in the offing? Not quite. First Akari will make soap bubbles for us.

Finally the gooey soapy gel shows up. Akari will get a handful and apply it to her chest, including beneath the bikini bra. She giggles as she does this.

Abruptly she’s standing and pressing against the glass.

First her boobs, then her butt.

Then in one of the strangest mistakes in the history of gravure idol DVDs, they SKIP the showering off. We see Akari putting the shower head back in its place. She’s dripping wet. She bows and briefly thanks us for watching her DVD. Bye-Bye. Fade out. No. I am not kidding. This is how the DVD ends.

Summary: An exquisitely proportioned model, a lovely smile, wonderful skin tones, perfect lighting, and excellent editing yield what? One of the most disappointing and least exciting DVD’s I’ve ever watched. Nearly every scene is flawed by inaction, or too many closeups, repetitive music, and lack of creativity for pacing. As I said, the editing was done very well…but it is as if the director didn’t trust the model to be creative and alluring on her own, so he called all the shots, and gave us DVD that is pretty much boring from start to finish. Except for the massage scene, which came so unexpectedly, the DVD is unexceptional.

Ms. Akari is a pleasure to look at. And she’s going to get the bulk of the points. I’ll also give the editor, and the set director, and the lighting director points too. But the score will go no higher than three point zero.
