Yuka Hirata – White Canvas (2006)
Liverpool Productions

The Skinny: Yuka Hirata is off to Pattaya, Thailand, well actually it is Jomtien Beach, which is like a suburb south of Pattaya. She’s dark, and exotic looking, and rather cute. But the video seems like she visited Thailand when no one else did. Or maybe the hotel, the Botany Bay Resort, just didn’t have any other bookings. Oh well…
That’s a pretty good description of the DVD itself. Oh, it’s not bad with the usual serious problems we often see in gravure DVDs, like poor editing, erratic camera work, flawed lighting. These are NOT evident. Instead we have a lovely woman wandering around a deserted hotel and beach. She must smile and walk around with no one to play off except the camera. Every once in awhile she’s either talking to us via voice over, or talking to herself in voice-over, or literally talking to the viewers via an interview gimmick. This is a perfect reason why the DVD lapses into the dreaded boring zone on occasion.

In one scene, she walks through the hotel lobby in a revealing bikini. Not a soul in sight – not even a clerk at the front desk.

Go figure…White Canvas, the title, references a dream-like chapter in the DVD. A girl seems totally alone on a deserted island, ala Tom Hanks in Cast Away. She thinks she sees a passing ship, and waves a white canvas attached to a stick. No luck, and no luck spear fishing either. She shrugs it off and the drinks the last of her water from a bottle; then the scene ends. It started nowhere and ended nowhere.

In the next scene, a lovely woman, who is also played by Yuka, is walking along the beach. She looks lovely in a bare shoulders dress. She’s the one who will find the SOS Message in a bottle. But she can’t open the bottle. Not only does she abandon the bottled message but she just tosses it away thereby littering the beach. Hmmmm…

Time for a frolic in the hotel pool. Yuka wears a flattering white bikini.

Next she’s at the poolside bar quaffing a lush tropical drink. I should say she’s not at the bar, instead she’s sitting, then standing on the bar. This makes for some neat flirtation and is a joy to watch.

An interview follows with the questions written on cards which Yuka selects randomly from an assortment face down on the table.

Out to the garden next where Yuka cavorts amidst the fantastically sculpted shrubbery. Maybe Johnny Scissorshands visited here before Yuka. She looks very nice in that bikini.

Back to the hotel room. Yuka wears a see-through sweater over black undies and seems to play act for us. She’s very dynamic. And as this scene ends, Yuka winks conspiratorially at us.

The following scene opens in the exact same spot with Yuka on her bed. She’s wearing a different kind of see through. Her voice over tells us something, but don’t ask me to repeat it.

How about a visit to a Thai gym where we watch a lady practice her kicks against the proverbial hanging heavy bag. No doubt your ribs would crack like snapped twigs if you received these kicks. Yuka gives it a whirl. We watch as she unfurls a series of the old left-right combo punches, which are followed by a Yuka kick. Her fight game needs some work…

And so, she’s practicing in the next chapter. We watch through the fence before joining her in the workout room. Yuka bobs and weaves and throws a lot of air punches at us before doing some curls with the weights.

The Black Bikini scene follows. They shot this in the empty hotel lobby. It’s Yuka, a mirror, and us.

The finale has Yuka on the beach at night. She wears a sexy and low-cut red satin dress. Her shoes are off and she’s holding them. She looks very sexy and also looks lonely; she’s the classic lovely woman in the tropics with no one to hold her in their arms. We watch as she walks off and the credits roll.

Summary: Not really great and not really bad. So the score is average, three point zero. You can easily agree that Yuka Hirata is a desirable woman. I’ll say that Liverpool Productions did an acceptable job here with this DVD. While there aren’t any super highlights, you will still find much to like about this model.

I know we like her; enough to have her on our pages again very soon. We look forward to reviewing Yuka’s newest DVD “H” – Yuka in Bali soon (images above).
