The Skinny: A Guam location bedeviled by often overcast skies, less than perfect light management, and a rather mundane game plan all are contributing factors to keeping the score at midrange on our scale.
Despite the intriguing title, Impact, after watching the 56 minute DVD, you might find that you are asking - where, when and what exactly is the impact?
I really like the model Kazusa Sato. As you can see in the above photo (not from the DVD) that she can make quite an impact. She’s very experienced in performing before the camera. This is her 10th gravure DVD that I know of. I recently gave her a quad review which you can find here after you finish up with this one.
Her 2 full years of modeling for DVDs serve her well. She knows how to move, how to make those small changes in posture, or angle of the head to continually refresh the posing.
Unfortunately in this DVD due to the uneven weather and dull direction - every scene seems to play the same way. Each scene is overdubbed with nondescript music, so bland and vague, that it is often an intrusive element rather than enhancing the scene. Of course we never get to hear the natural sounds of the shower, pool, or ocean.
In every scene, Kazusa will follow similar patterns in posing and the camera will do the exact same thing that it did in the scene just concluded.
Finally, the scenes were too long.
Those are fairly serious comments about why this DVD didn’t score higher. On the other hand, I think watching Kazusa is a special treat. Her expressions vary, her figure is superb, and she’s quite pretty.
We have to wait until the making of segments and interview segments to hear her speak. While she’s not shy, she has a light laughter which is both charming and captivating despite the natural restraint.
I’m not going to trot the scenes out one by one - as they are by the numbers - pool, shower, beach for locations. Hula hoop and ice cream are the props. In the best scene in the DVD, Kazusa dons a wig, and wears a very sexy see-through garment - you know, the kind we see see Yuka Sawachi wear in all of her DVDs. The reason this scene works is that for once, the lighting was correct, and she dropped some ice cubes into her cleavage.
Summary: I’ll be happy to watch more DVDs with Kazusa Sato in the future. I hope the producers Creave and partners have better luck with their next DVD in terms of flying halfway to Hawaii from Japan and then running into some so-so weather. Of course they will need to show us some major improvements in direction, editing, lighting , and choice of music in order to warrant a better score.
