Hiroko Sato – Himitsu (2003)
Takeshobo
The Skinny: Way back in 2003, before a good many of you had even heard of my column, I started watching lovely Japanese women presented for their beauty or substantial boobage, or their willingness to perform sexual acts on screen. I must admit – back in 2003, I hadn’t even heard of Hiroko Sato. Now I can’t get enough of her!!!

This is one of Hiroko’s earliest DVD’s and it’s called Himitsu. I can’t translate the title for you – but this is a bikini idol gravure DVD and it was shot in one of Okinawa’s choicest beach locations. From the opening shots with Hiroko walking towards us on a beach, clad in a pale yellow bikini, you won’t be able to take your eyes off the lovely Hiroko, even though she doesn’t do much except walk around in the shallows.

As this DVD was shot a number of years ago, you can detect the differences between the younger Hiroko of 2003, and the more current versions. She seemed eager to find the camera in this DVD. She hadn’t quite learned the lesson that with her beauty, the camera will always find her.

The second chapter has Hiroko returning to the same beach. This time, she’s in a white bikini. Again the action is limited to walking around and examining some shells and stones on the beach.

The third chapter is one of those scenes where you handle the camera yourself, and instead of recording where you are going, the camera is held via a pole or rod and is aimed so that you become the subject.

It amounts to about four and half minutes of Hiroko talking to us while she walks. And the camera being so close – really, it is less than ideal.

Next we are back on the beach. This time Hiroko is in a pink bikini. Again there’s not much action as she sits in the shallows then lays down. While Hiroko is superb to look at, we need more in nearly five minutes than an almost stationary model.

Unfortunately this is followed by nearly 8 minutes of Hiroko talking to us while she sits in the back seat of a parked van. This scene was 6 minutes too long. Unless you are enrolled in dentistry college, or a close relative of Hiroko – then this scene won’t be to your liking.

Sorry readers, it gets worse. The next scene has Hiroko with a badminton racquet. There’s no net, we don’t see who her partner is, and frankly, Hiroko, more than likely, never played badminton before this scene. At least she laughed a lot and seemed to enjoy the activity.

Yay, next we are back to the beach. The sky looks only a little better than in the opening scene where the sky was dark and brooding. As for Hiroko, well she looks smashing in a white bikini trimmed in black with dotted pencil line stripes. Hiroko walks away from us and then re-appears amid the rocks. This scene looks like it was a photo-shoot. However it only looked like it might be a photoshoot, how do I know this – because there is a real photo-shoot coming up.

Or should I say that it follows a throw-a-away shopping scene. Hiroko shops at a mall and comes away with just a cute bumblebee purse.

The lengthy ‘real’ photo-shoot was the best part of the DVD. Actually it was an extended series of shoots, and Hiroko looked simply stunning. This segment more than erased the flawed chapters earlier in the DVD.

But wait, there’s more. That’s what the say on TV when they have more to add in IF you will just make the purchase being advertised. The more in this DVD are rather surprising. First comes para-sailing. That’s when you go up over the sea wearing a harness attached to a parachute, as a powerboat tows you. Lovely Hiroko went up twice.

The second was an undersea adventure. It wasn’t scuba which means self contained underwater breathing apparatus. No this was more like a diving helmet with air hoses attached, so they didn’t go too deep. But the striped fish were very friendly as the gathered around to look at Hiroko, no doubt hoping for a handout of some food.

Then, a brief sunset coda and the DVD ended. Only 50 minutes, and at least 15 minutes were wasted with Hiroko shopping and talking to the camera that she operated. I got the distinct feeling that this entire DVD was shot in a single day as we didn’t see any evidence at all of a hotel room or even indoor shooting.

As this DVD was shot at least four full years ago, Hiroko was a newcomer and hadn’t yet garnered a following by legions of fans. But you can easily see how beautiful and beguiling she is. The single photoshoot segment brings the DVD up to an average rating of three point zero.

But there’s no mistaking the fact that, even with the capability of 20-20 hindsight – we know now that Hiroko Sato is adored by men all over the world – that there was an idol in the making with this early in her career DVD.
