Mikie Hara – ‘M’

The Skinny: A quietly sensational model who returns to our column with a beautifully done, lyrical, and inspiring DVD called “M”. We last reviewed Mikie Hara in the Memoires DVD from Nettelegenic. It was set in Vietnam. This time, she’s in Guam. Wasn’t I surprised when Mikie said in English, “I love Guam!“.

Right at the outset, the very first shot in the DVD, where Mikie, in a pale blue bikini peeks out at us from behind some lush green tropical foliage, you know you are going to see something quite special.
She’s very cute, yet she’s earthy, and provocative when she needs to be. However, our Mikie’s strength as model is that she doesn’t have to be doing something to attract you. Many of the scenes have her just posed in such a way that you’re able to drink in her beauty, while she doesn’t do much more than let the camera dude do his thing. The Director encourages her to be passive rather than active, and this enables you to also enjoy the setting.
The montage effectively displays many of the highlights and guess what, as the montage reveals it images, you’re hooked, you’ve got your eyes wide open, and you’re ready to get into the DVD.
The first chapter has Mikie down at the marina. The blue skies and sunny day make this an attractive scene.
Scene two has Mikie out on the water with her surfboard. Well, I am exaggerating to a degree. She won’t be hanging ten, riding the curl, or coming through the pipeline; still – it is a fun scene.
Next is the walk in the ‘jungle’. This is the scene stemming from the DVD’s first image. Mikie hams it up with some pseudo hop-scotch. The music is a soft samba and we also can hear her laughter. Usually the music is a complete overdub, and we hear nothing else. So this touch of reality is appreciated.
After this, Mikie first uses a pedal pump, then her own lungs to blow up a huge beach ball. This is a lot of work for the model for very little return for us. The ball is just too big – if the ball is in the picture then we don’t see much of Mikie.
Next Mikie is in bed wearing a sheet – use your imagination as this isn’t as revealing as you might hope for. Actually she wears a tiny bra which we do get to see later on in the scene. Check out this closeup of Mikie.
Then we have Mikie in a long dress. It has an interesting floral pattern. Here we get to enjoy a pensive Mikie posing by the window. That’s before she will open her dress for us.
Another dress follows as she walks about in the shallows of the beach. This dress is backless, and the music is a harp. Most impressive.
Next is a waterfall location. Mikie looks kind of scared throughout. She won’t smile much and maybe it is because she’s out on a slippery ledge, getting drenched – and staying put on the ledge could be a problem. This was likely no picnic for the camera crew either. This photo directly below is from the Photobook, and the one below that is from the DVD.
The following scene is a gorgeous sunset. Mikie wears a beautiful black swimsuit. It’s not a bikini – but it isn’t eactly a one-piece either. Whatever you want to the call the costume, this is still a wonderful scene. Very romantic lighting, a stationary model, and the camera gives us a great look at her.
Following this is another spectacular scene. Mikie is out on the deck. She wears a light blue see-through top over a skimpy bra and panties set. She looks gorgeous with the top on but will really wow you when the top goes and we get the full-fledged glamor posing.
The credits run next and the final 18 minutes is some wonderful behind the scenes look at a great model. It’s not so much how she looks in the making of segments and the behind the scenes – it is really about what she’s like.
She laughs, hams it up, jokes around with the crew – and makes herself even more endearing.
In my view this is a superb DVD. Pony Canyon has released a winner. Not ever do you get the sense of a model just going through the motions. The last photo below is from the Photobook and was a a part of the sunset scene.
I’ll score the DVD at four point two five as some of you may feel that some of the scenes were a tad slow moving. Maybe. But there’s no maybe on this last comment. This is a must see DVD.
