A recent visit to the San Francisco Bay area was most enjoyable. It took a trip across the country from New York to SF to make me aware of how much detail we simply disregard as we walk through our lives.
It’s all there, right in front of our eyes, and when these images reach the main office, located somewhere behind your eyes, the head guy, the brain, simply says, “Nah, discard that, I’m not interested.”

Indeed. Well, you can’t argue, can you? He is the head guy. He tells you where to go, what to eat, and, he even will tell your dick to get hard when appropriate — although this organ has been known to make its own decisions anyway.

You see them sitting on desks or on mantles, or as centerpieces on grand tables. Some people give them as much care and comfort as their own children. They cost as little or as much as you care to pay for them. And finally they are they are available in their own specialty stores, or you can find them in the wild.
What is that I’m describing?

Flying into Osaka twice, once from Tokyo, then again after a nice sojourn to Bangkok, Thailand, reminded me of the movie Black Rain which starred Michael Douglas as New York Police Detective Nick Conklin.

Black Rain appeared in the theaters way back in 1989, and has been replayed many times in my own home. Douglas was ably supported by Ken Takakura, as Japanese Detective Masahiro Matsumoto, and Andy Garcia as his sidekick, Detective Charlie Vincent.
