The Skinny: Most guys like Arisa. She’s got pizazz, she’s got charisma, and she’s also got a killer body. She is unafraid to push the envelope when it comes to showing some skin. Her DVDs are fun, sexy, and often just jaw-droppingly exciting. Convex has those attributes but is no better than an average effort overall.

There’s no montage, just joking, there’s always a montage – but soon we launch right into it with Arisa on a bed. Her room is poolside. She’s wearing a skimpy bikini. And she’s going to lose the top, long before the song ends.

Next up Arisa is in a flower strewn pool. She wears a pink trimmed fluffy bikini top with a thong bottom. The first song is too fast for what we see, and the second is better. She will lose the top shortly into the second song. I think they did a poor job of light management in this scene. I imagine they took their time positioning the model so that we could get glimpses of the sides of her boobs.

Arisa next appears in a tight blue top, with a very short white skirt. She’s going to play some golf for her fans. While she looks good playing – she three putted from 9 feet. Check out the sweat gathering in her cleavage. If you are a golf enthusiatst you might cringe here and there – but for those of us not so enthused with the white ball and stick game – it was a fun scene.

Arisa wears a black dress to an empty swimming pool in the next scene. Be advised that I use the term ‘dress’ because I lack a better term. The dress is backless, sleeveless, and is deeply cut in the front to cover her breasts yet reveal her full cleavage. I guess you could say the dress is a vee-neck to the waist. And the sides are cut so high that you can see her ass at certain angles. There’s not much action to this scene – except to tease us. Again there are lighting issues as the midday sun puts Arisa’s face in the shadows.

A pool scene follows. Arisa wears a very skimpy bikini with a red floral pattern. She floats on an inflatable loungepad. This scene has superior light management but the camera work is spotty. Still, you may think her bikini is revealing enough to allow you to overcome the shortcomings. During the second tune, Arisa gets her boobs right up close to the camera. Cleavage Cam indeed.

Next up is another exercised based scene. Arisa rides a bicycle. We see mostly shots of her boobs in a tight top from below, or we see her crotch absorbing the seat. How did they do this? They mounted two cameras on the bike.

And there was likely a third camera on a bike in front of her. Almost four minutes later, Arisa has parked the bike. She’ll drink some water, and what else? Correct – she’ll spill some water into her cleavage as we listen to some lilting Hawaiian style music.

The Northern Marianas where this DVD was shot have their share of beach and shoreline coral, Arisa wears a pale skin tone thongs bikinias she walks around the beach. I’ll bet she’s going to get sunburned on her bottom – that’s how small this bikini bottom is.

Of course, Arisa will avail herself of yet another opportunity to remove her top to reveal the outline of her nipples in what appears to be a heavy coating of makeup.

But is it makeup? I wonder what will happen when she gets wet. Guess what – we do find out. The color is off and it looks like a thin layer of latex to me. What do you think?

Meanwhile back to reality. Arisa walks about in the shallows in the near sunset time of day. When darkness is near, and we see the beautiful post-sunset sky, the camera crew still have Arisa in the shadows and they light her with small pin spotlights. It is vaguely stroboscopic initially, but that effect is a waste of time for a DVD.

Later the lights stay on – you know, so Arisa can remove her top once again. The DVD is beginning to have a certain johnny-one-note theme.

Arisa is ‘hired out’ for some light housekeeping. She’s barely dressed and she has to scrub down the shower and tub. She wears a cut-down tee shirt that is taped to her breasts. There’s maximum exposure yet still enough coverage to disallow the label of nudity.

This is followed by Arisa in the shower herself. In an peculiar twist – she wears more for her own shower than she did to clean the shower. The clingy wet material shows of her figure magnificently.

More water again in the next scene. Arisa is in a bold and deep blue bikini as she plays in the pool. This scene did capture my fancy. Maybe it was the waterfall, or maybe it the camera closeups and angles.

A gym session is next. Arisa gives the Cybex a good workout before doing situps on the Xodux. How about the Stairmaster? Why not. Arisa wears a snug tank top and short short shorts.

A late afternoon walk on the beach is next. Arisa wears a red bathing suit that has a vee-neck that goes down, down, and then down even further to just about two inches below her navel. While the camera work is shaky in spots, the lighting is just right most of the time. She looks golden, no doubt due to the handheld reflectors just off screen. But too often they go for the sun behind her and we get a lot of glare. I wonder if those metal rings which hold her bathing suit in place will leave marks on her hips?

This was the last of the scenes. We’ve watched Arisa for 1 hr and 18 minutes. There’s still 15 minutes to go. Well, they fill out the rest of the time with a series of making-of scenes as we watch model and crew working together. Nothing special visually but we do get a look at Arisa the person in addition to Arisa the model.

Summary – 93 minutes is too long. Most of the scenes had lots of flesh on display but there was nothing special about the shots, the lighting, or the game plan itself. Arisa has looked better in more than a few of her other DVDs than she does here. I’ll chalk this up to unimaginative direction, poor lighting choices, and a so-so job of editing. You find that this DVD has a lot of promise but only half the scenes deliver enjoyment. However you slice it, this means, at best, that this is no more than an average video. Three point zero.
