And now we are going to unwrap a wonderful gift. This next DVD is Ourei Harada’s Carnival. Produced by For-side, this is easily Ourei’s best DVD, and is one of the top idol DVDs released in 2006.
Ourei has long been a notable model in the world of Japanese Bikini Idols. As owner of one of the largest busts in Japan, there’s no hesitancy at all in stating that she’s now at the height of her popularity; or soon will be, once this very recent release (November 24th) is absorbed by many of her ardent fans.
Carnival is a bit of an odd name for the video. One of the most common thoughts is that the word carnival comes from the Italian carnovale which literally means farewell to meat. Of course this might also include, farewell to flesh, or letting go of the bodily self. But this DVD is a celebration of flesh; in particular the massive bosom that she carries with her wherever she goes.
After a stirring opening montage, and I do mean that literally, we greet Ourei on a beach. She’s wearing a yellow top over her trademark striped bikini and bikini of choice. It’s an exuberant scene – she’s starts with Ikemas! which means Let’s go! She runs, jumps, spins, twirls, and is fabulously happy to be so active. The yellow top is on, then off, then on again. Call it an ‘Editor’s Choice’ and we won’t hold it against them.
There’s a scene in a tree lined arbor with Ourei wearing a brown, military-esque sleeveless, multi-pocketed, zippered, vest or sweatshirt with a hood. This scene is noteworthy because Ourei takes particular care to direct our eyes to her mighty cleavage whenever appropriate with assorted gestures and touches. The director helps us out too by zooming in for cleavage closeups.
Next we are down by the sea. Ourei wears a dark green bikini. This rig has some of the LARGEST bra cups you will ever see. Still, she’s so big on top that massive amounts of boobage are there for you to admire.
Bedroom time next. Ourei wears an off-the-shoulder loose fitting top. The idea is for Ourei to take off this top to reveal her frilly undies. The bra part is the right size but ever so tiny. Then in a directorial gaffe – somehow the over-top is back on. This time Ourei will remove the bra from under the top for us. Then she takes off the top completely covering her bust with her arms and hands. Fade out.
With some upbeat jazzy tune playing beneath the visuals, we find Ourei at the playground. She’s wearing a mismatched outfit of a Scottish plaid skirt with a shirt designed to show off her massive breasts. Its kind of a cute scene. When Ourei climbs up the slide and then comes down – her skirt flies up. There was also some ‘intentional’ peeks benath her skirt when she did some climbing. It was all in fun – and not the least bit salacious.
Time for a dip in the jacuzzi. Ourei wears a very unusual bikini with a necklace that reaches deep into her awesome cleavage. Her hair is up, and she looks delicious. This is a superb scene, best in the DVD, and a clear reason why this DVD should not to be missed.
Next is the only scene that I didn’t like. A silver top – fishnet stockings, gloves, and the whole scene shot on what looks like a car seat, or maybe it is a leather couch. But we never see the overall setting as the lighting is kept to minimum of a single directional spotlight. Ourei sort of writhes around on this seat. This scene didn’t work for me; but to be fair – the lighting did highlight her boobies quite well as you can see from the images.
However, they immediately redeem themselves as a great scene follows. They’ve found a lovely creek deep in the woods. The water is quite shallow and Ourei looks ravishing in a bold red bikini. The natural light, the water and trees are perfect contrasts for the sensational body we see encased in the bits of red.
Next we find Ourei on an Okinawan shore. She’s wearing a black skirt and black top with a bare midriff. She’s also got a large necklace that vanishes down into the top. This scene also wins high marks as Ourei looks terrific despite the fact that the black top, and the excessively large necklace tends to ‘hide’ her cleavage. But fortunately, there’s no hiding of her shapeliness. Another plus is the setting as it is low tide and this creates some unusual looking perspectives for us.
There’s a lengthy behind the scenes segment that follows, and we revisit every set, scene, and location. This was a DVD that portrayed a lovely woman with a stupendous bust better than she’s ever appeared on screen before – make up, hair styles, accessories, and her bountiful bust were showcased in one well executed scene after another.
Even the music was not only quite good – but unique and original. You might find a few similiarly paced scenes back to back – but this is a minor point. I’m bringing this one in at four point seven five – and giving it a ‘must see’ recommendation.

Nice review JMM. Grabbed the vid a few days ago and the pics don’t do it justice. The view of the striped and green bikini’s are about as good as it gets. Definitely one of the best of the year!

I really liked Carnival too, but I would have take a little off the score for the generic nature of a lot of the scenes and some the pacing is too similar. Still, it’s hard to get too wound up over he minor things when you have a DVD where Ôrei actually… well… bounces. Minor miracle considering how overstuffed she is.
The eighth track bothered me as well… with the silver bikini and stark lighting, it reminded me a little of a few scenes in Rio’s Erotica. I disagree with your take on track 6 though: I like the cute outfit and the pigtails, but forgettable would be the best word to describe it.

To: R. Daneel – Thank you for reading my column for so many years. I appreciate that you took the time to drop off a thank-you note. As Zatoichi has said – Harada-san does have an obviously enhanced bust – but she looks so good in this DVD.
To: Zatoichi – We rarely agree. I really didn’t think much of Ourei’s last DVD Beauty Heroine – and you gave it credible marks. But we are in alignment on this one (for the most part). The playground scene (mismatched plaids + pig-tails) – I only said it was kind of cute. It wasn’t so much of what she was doing – but she did seem to enjoy herself.
One thing I failed to mention in the body of the review was that each scene had its own built-in behind the scenes section. This must be a relatively new technique as I don’t recall seeing it before. I liked it as it adds a touch a realism in that what we see in the finished state., took some planning and adjustments made on the fly.
I look forward to the next DVD made by Ms Harada.

ohh i like those big boobs of ourei they look so big and firm i also watched that film carnival its fooking hot man..thanks jmm for those pics and information the film is much hotter than those images.well the bounces were pretty hot.
