In case you hadn’t noticed – I am a big fan of Yuka Sawachi. She’s not done too many videos, and she’s worked in two genres – the busty bikini idols, as well as the videos made for the guys who go for beautiful legs. Yes, Yuka has what it takes.
Survivor was released back in January of 2005 meaning it was shot during the late summer of 2004. At the time, Yuka had only one other bikini idol credit – and that was the very successful DVD entitled Double O. As the song goes,… just one look, that’s all it took …

and after watching Double O I was a major fan. But fandom and doing a review blog are two separate activities. One requires adoration and the other requires giving an honest appraisal. So, the possibilities for conflicting perspectives do exist. But not on my watch!
Survivor has it’s moments of superb beauty and grace all of which are summed up in two words: Yuka Sawachi. The opening suite has our model writhing on the floor to create allure – then a mood change after a disappointing phone call. She slithers up the steps. Not a bad scene to watch except for the ghastly musical choices – including a Parisian accordion piece that usually appears in films where the characters say ‘ca va‘ or ‘bonjour’. The third chapter of the this opening scene ends with Yuka in bed.
Next comes a workout scene with the desirable Yuka attired in a light blue leotard in which there are some obvious tape anchors to prevent some accidentally overly revealing shots.Yuka looks most displeased working out.
Next a happy Yuka appears in a small bikini. We are pleased by this occurence as well. And so it goes…This scene has two segments: indoors and outdoors.
Shortly afterwards, we find a new bikini adorning Yuka and she’s in a different setting as well. There’s lots of rock surrounding the model. Before you get too accustomed to the rocks, Yuka is up in a tree – then before you get too accustomed to that, they’ve got her on the beach. Very nice except for the fact of the sun behind the model on occasion leading to too much sun glare in spots (no pun intended).
Next a faux chase scene with Yuka wearing (what else but) a faux leopard blouse. But under the blouse is a tempting bikini. And Yuka will do her best to maximize our viewing pleasure in this costume. Check out the waist level shot looking upward.
A leather dress with draw strings and straps is the next costume. Unfortunately the setting is a derelict building reduced to an unliveable state. Why do the producers believe we enjoy these settings? We see far too many setting of this type.
Next Yuka wears a Mandarin style dress. She wields a red fan and high kicks, as this is a balletic karate styled scene. Also take note of the dress design and the pasties.
They move on to a real waterfall. Yuka climbs out onto a rocky ledge as the water falls over her. This scene isn’t much eroticism as much as it is about survival. How did she get out there and the camera man as well? Good question and something to ponder. Great legs too…
Another sun bedeviled scene follows. Yuka is wearing a pink outfit, with a major league brassiere visible beneath the top. Too bad most of this is lost to the sun.
The finale has Yuka as a woman on the run. They’ve got her scrambling up a steep hill. She wears two layers of fatigue tops, boots, chains, with fake tatoos; and as she climbs upwards, she looks like she’s really taking a beating.
As the scene ends, are we seeing the relief of an escaped prisoner, or that of a model who is thrilled that her labors are over?
I can’t go any higher than a three point zero as there too many flaws:
Bad music
Sun problems
inexplicable choices of settings and action
But as always Yuka looks superb. As this was a DVD released a ways back, we know assuredly that Yuka Sawachi has gone on to better projects. The best of this DVD is in the making of segments, when she’s not acting out the roles assigned by the producers; instead she’s just being a happy-go-lucky beautiful woman interacting with the production crew.
Survivor – Yuka Sawachi
We’ll have Yuka in Love in the Afternoon as a future review.
