Venus - Nozomi Takeuichi

How do you spell sexy? Start with Nozomi Takeuchi and you can’t go wrong. From the first scene on a Thai beach to the closing scenes in a room somewhere - you won’t be able to take your eyes off the screen. That’s the kind of magnet for the eyes that she is.
From Tao Inc., the title is Venus. And take it from me, Botticelli’s Venus has nothing on this girl. Probably if old man Botticelli had painted a standard portrait instead of a celestial painting, and had a model that looked like Nozomi, art history would have been a whole lot different.

But I digress. The crew from Tao booked some rooms at the inn, namely the Long Beach Garden Hotel & Spa in Chonburi, Pattaya, Thailand. I’ve not been there - but that could easily change if it is a known stop on the idol caravan route.
After the pre-credit opening montage, we get a luscious Nozomi simply tantalizing us as she goes through her paces on the Pattaya shore. She doesn’t go very far; in fact the scene opens and closes in almost the same spot. The creativity is all in the camera movements, the editing, and the marvelous way Nozomi plays to the camera.
The second scene is similar. Nozomi wears a breathtaking bikini which leaves no questions about the size and shape of her body, but keeps her relatively covered. She’s in the door way to her room’s balcony as the camera swirls up and down, in and out, back and forth. The lush palms add color to the great series of moves that Nozomi offers the viewers.
The scene has a weaker ending than beginning as she’s somehow transported into the room and we see her on her hands and knees on the table. They might have kept the camera in close for some wondrous expressive smiles from her. But there is one brilliant zoom into her boobs to make up for this.
The third scene has a blue motif. Her bikini is a light blue. The top doesn’t flatter her, but the bikini panties are miniscule. I can’t really tell where this was shot as they are in some sort of structure. It may be a dry-dock for a boat which forms the blue background. But you really don’t get any clear cut, identifiable views of the boat as we are basically under it throughout. It is an unusual location to say the least.
The next scene is in some back alley or behind the scenes passageway deep in the bowels of the hotel’s service areas. Nozomi wears a see through buttoned affair. I say there are buttons but you have to look hard to see them, as she’s got most of them undone so to show off her legs, as well as a satin bra. Again the tempo is slow and dreamy. I guess the temps were on the rise after she opened the dress, then discarded it to reveal the matching satin panties.
Finally they give Nozomi an opportunity to bounce and jiggle. She’s in a garden wearing a red bikini and she’s ‘dancing or jumping around’ near this flowered shrubbery. It is on an elevated point with a great sea view. The scene really didn’t fit except as a change of pace, and her red bikini didn’t fit that well. Mercifully this is a short scene as jumping up and down doesn’t give the best kind of jiggling.
Boudoir time next, and doesn’t Nozomi look wonderful with her hair up and off her neck. Nozomi wears a grand black and pink sleepwear ensemble which will make you look again and again and again.
Following this wondrous scene is the clunker of the reel. Nozomi is tarted up and is working what looks like a long neglected roof-top parking lot. This scene is not really sexy - let’s call it grungy instead.
And after that we have another smoldering Nozomi scene. She looks great but her costume and the setting won’t do a thing for you - unless I carefully select the shots. But I should give you my honest reaction to the scene instead of making it look better for a few captures and ignoring some inherent weakness to the overall scene.
And just when I am ready to move ahead - there’s one of those leather with straps and whips get-ups with matching lace-up boots that go above the calves. I guess they were slumming as we’ve completely lost sight of the hotel and this scene includes a look at someone’s laundry hanging on a line drying in the sun. As the scene ends. Nozomi is on the floor. This scene looks like a lift of one of the scenes in Yarujan with Miri Hanai.
The closing scene also matches Yarujan as Nozomi is in a room somewhere dressed in a fine Japanese silk yukata. This a bedroom scene and a mirror comes into play. Actually this was quite a good scene - not really original but none the less effective.
The summary is that this DVD was not a tale of two cities, nor a tale of two titties. Nozomi Takeuchi is captivating whereever it is that they choose to place her in front of their cameras. The production seemingly goes for the straight bikini and idol scenes front loaded in the first half hour, and the more arty and unusual scenes in the second half.
Even though a couple of the scenes were definitely failures - you can not punish Nozomi with a so-so score. I’m going to bring this one in at three point seven five as she looks sexy and they give us plenty to look at. But I am tiring of the continued use of grungy locations. Why not dress the model up in street clothes and let her out in public. Back alleys, disused rooftops, and scuzzy stairwells are much played out due to overuse, and is very gauche IMHO.

I think I’d pretty much agree with this one… although I did happen to like the forth scene with Nozomi just bouncing. I’ll have my review in a bit, but I might just hold off until I get my hands on Ôrei’s new one and get them both done at the same time. It’s really hard for other idols’ to complete with Nozomi when it comes to being sexy… not even some of the heavy weights (not literally of course) like Yôko or Miri are as consistant as Nozomi when it comes to just oozing sexuality.
I see you’re still down on the more industrial settings, but you have to admit that they varied the locations more than just one type of setting. IMO just having the idol on beach after beach is just as boring.
(BTW, you’ve got the cover for Anata Iro, not Venus Bi No Megami at the start (-_-;) )

Thanks for pointing out the wrong cover. It was late last night, and I just clicked in the Anata Iro cover in error.
I’m not down on industrial settings - I’m down on grungy settings.
Watching paint drying is no fun. But looking at a very sexy lady in a place where the paint is already peeled away does nothing for me. Placing the model in an abandoned automobile junk yard, or having her amid stacks of dead rubber tires, or using someone’s laundry drying in the sun on a roof top as set decor are directorial choices. I just don’t agree with all of them.
I recall Yoko in Guam posing against a chainlink fence. Industrial surely. Grungy definitely not. I also recall Rio playing an undercover agent in an abandoned building from WW II in Saipan. So while the setting was scabrous - she was at least play acting and costumed.
Why not a rooftop garden? Or a park? Or even a hike in the woods. It doesn’t have to be a beach. And we don’t need all bikinis either. Tee-shirts and jeans will go nicely for the viewers. Or how about a turtle neck sweater, jeans, and boots every now and then - that would make me happy.
Or you know what? How about regular clothes that the model wears when not working?
