X-Men, Spider-Man, Superman, and Batman. Rocky (Balboa), Rambo, The Alien, and Indiana Jones. Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, The Terminator, and Star Trek. Ok…one more set – The Godfather, Mission Impossible, The Exorcist, and Harry Potter.

What’s the common thread connecting these film franchises, chararacters, or series? C’mon. it’s not that tough of a question.

That’s right. Each of those movies had at least a couple of SEQUELS. If the original is a hit, then there’s a strong likelihood that the sequel will do big box office all over again. Call it great marketing if you liked what you see. But when the nth sequel lays an egg you may feel ripped off with no one to blame except yourself as you’re the one who bought the ticket.

Did you know the Idol business works in a similar fashion?

Only difference is the time element. The producers fly the crew to the location. If the model is a headliner with a good sales track record, they’ll shoot about four or five hours of video. Then they release two titles at once. The rest of the video is held back because it may not be that good, or it’s held back to be released later in a boxed special set. Either way, they want you to buy all of it, even if some of the scenes are less than scintillating.

But sometimes it works decidely to the buyers advantage, and the sequel or companion video is as good as or even better than the original or first release. I recently reviewed the Hiroko Sato in Rome DVD. Thought it was aces up. An excellent effort. I am now proud to say that I liked Hiroko Sato in Sardinia even better.

While the DVDs are similar in structure, and style, the Sardinia DVD just struck a deeper resonance with me. I couldn’t take my eyes of the screen. Hiroko Sato is just a gorgeous woman.

She’s got a sweet smile, a luscious body with a rather large bustline, and womanly hips, and she’s got energy, charisma, and great hair. She’s got it all.

We’ll see her on the beach. It’s a stunning location. this unnamed beach in Sardinia, but unfortunately there’s too much running back and forth. Following is a brief interview before we are back to running around. This time it is on a soccer field. Hiroko is fairly talented on the field.

The next two scenes are just great as you will see from the vidcaps. Then a brief interlude for lunch. Pizza again for Hiroko. This just breaks up the strings of successful scenes.

We will marvel at her beauty, and marvel how the art director had Hiroko in just the right clothes that blend in so effectively with the Sardinian town with the rose, peach, and white terra cotta walls. It is so harmonious and perfectly blended.

Hiroko looks great in bed, or on a couch, or when she’s back on the beach. Each scene builds anticipation for the next. You hope the video will go on endlessly.

But then there’s one clunker of scene. Hiroko is decked out in riding boots, shorts, and ill-fitting safari-shirt and a pith helmet. Unfortunately they mishandle the scene which is a rock climbing hike. We don’t get to see anything except the rocks so we’ve no idea how high it is. Did I say her shirt doesn’t fit, and the boots were all wrong. Hiroko is a real trooper to have undertaken this hill with those boots. You go girl!

Check out the gorgeous scenery in this set of images. Beautiful woman, beautiful location, perfect weather, and superior music. This is just a winning DVD and that’s the facts, Jack!

The Rome DVD garnered a Four point Zero. Sardinia will come in at Four point two five. By the way, I’ve seen the title of this DVD translated to Orbit of the Sun, and it is certainly an apt title. So I’ll borrow a tune from Zatoichi, in the realm of gravure idols – this one is a MUST SEE!
