Sometimes you have high expectations, and sometimes you just can’t wait for the mail to arrive so you can unwrap your latest DVD. And other times you have no idea – other than you hope that you’ll like what you see. Just stopping by cdjapan and looking at a list of new releases, I discovered that Megumi Kagurazaka had released a new DVD. I hadn’t heard any buzz, nor had I been told by anyone to get this video. So maybe it was kismet, or maybe just good fortune. What ever it was – I was so pleased with the DVD that I am proud to share my review with you.

Easily, I think this DVD called Supreme: Megumi Kagurazaka in Thailand, is the best Gravure Idol DVD I’ve seen this year. My feeling is that this effort by Director Yutaka Otsuki for Cube Productions, was a series of magnificent compositions. If you’re going to just walk around and follow the model while pointing your camera at her, you won’t be producing a viable and commercial DVD. It will just be footage recorded. So before you kick start the camera you should have some idea of how you’re going to proceed after the model shows up in the viewfinder.

Certainly they had a terrific game plan which started by flying the cast and crew off to Thailand. The final destination was one of Thailand’s many island resorts, There’s no credits given to any hotel so I can’t say for certain where this was done.

The sexy montage will whet your appetite for more, and there’s plenty to see as we’ve got an 80 minute DVD. Megumi opens by introducing herself from the balcony of her hotel room. She’s wearing a tee-shirt over a small bikini; and as the scene ends they leave the camera running about 4-6 seconds too long. They might have edited this out; however I must state now that we’ll have to look long and hard before finding something else that isn’t quite right.

But right after that [delay] we are immediately whisked away, electronically of course, to the beach. Megumi is positioned under a tree right at the shore. The sky lacks color. But the shots are very creative. Her bikini is white with a green trim and virtually mirrors the whitish sky and the green tree leaves. It’s really an itsby-bitsy bikini and will reveal much/most of her body. In some shots all you’ll see is basically a small swatch of cloth which is the bikini.

But this isn’t a lengthy scene. We cut to Megumi’s hotel room where we will find her with a greenish exercise ball. There are actually 4 such segments within the whole DVD. This time, she sits atride the ball, and will tell us that she will grip the ball with her feet while sitting on it, thereby balancing on the ball. Note the pale green of the ball, her bikini, and the plant next to the tv. It fun to watch and Megumi laughs and enjoys herself despite the difficulty of mainting such balance.

Megumi next appears in a white sheer top over a white bikini. Though this is a slow moving scene, the pacing of the solo piano music is correctly matched. This is also a brief interlude. We next see Megumi in the hotel’s garden. She walks and talks, but my meager Japanese skills were overmatched; so I cannot tell you what she said.

Back to the hotel room in a wonderful scene, She’s in a red sweater and a short ‘arty’ skirt; and she looks as cute as could be. She will wrestle to open a Thai market bag of Lay’s potato chips. Then she’ll actually change tops right before our eyes. This is no joke. There’s also no nudity either, but the scene plays exactly as described.

This is followed by another session with the exercise ball. This time a series of strong bounces while sitting on the ball. She will say ikemas which means in this context, Let’s go! or Here I go!.

Megumi does have a beautiful body. The next scene features a lot of bending over , and some terrific legs and butt shots. The music is a bit upbeat, and they’ve got her hair swept up off the neck, so it is a new look within this video. The costume is very arty, and I wasn’t thrilled with it; but the scene works because of the suggestive poses and the lush tropical vegetation and the wooden rails and structures which frame the shots.

A quick cut later and we have Megumi and a soccer ball. This is a lot of fun as Megumi plays both the wing or forward out to score a goal as well as the goalie attempting to prevent such a score. She shows some nimble footwork as well as a decent kick. Of course, her costume will show off the bottom of her boobs, so the scene is a success.

Next more glamour and again we are amidst the Thai jungle on the wooden walkways that wind their way through it. This is an extension of the scene just prior to the soccer. Here the arty top layer – the mesh layer – of the costume is off and we see the bikini that was beneath it all along.

Next we are back in the hotel room. This scene is a resumption of the earlier scene with the white sheer top over the white bikini. Again there’s a solo piano perfoming as we watch. This time, Megumi shows off her gorgeous breasts. Her skimpy top all but reveals everything, and we can count the three pearls attached to the string holding the two bra cups together. The main thrust of the scene is to accentuate her bust line.

Scene three of the exercise ball follows. This time Megumi will try to balance while she’s on her stomach on the ball with both hands and feet clear of the floor. Not a simple thing to do as the ball will roll. Awesome cleavage shots throughout this part of the workout.

Back to the hotel room, as Megumi will again change her clothes right before our eyes. She ends up wearing a very skimpy sweater held together by a single button at first. This is pure Miri Hanai style – but it works. As the scene closes, Megumi is again chomping on some potato chips.

Night begins to fall and Megumi is out by the pool. She wears a dark bikini that is deeply cut, and her hair is wet throughout the scene. It is high glamour and the scene is fabulously lit. We see marvelous skin tones as well as the rich deep blues of the early evening sky. As the night darkens the background, Megumi is shot with soft and direct lighting and she looks great. She’s sleek, she’s beautiful, and she’s busty. Just superb.

Back to the hotel for another exercise ball sequence. This time she lying atop the ball on her back. Her bust thrusts upward, and we will aslo marvel at her flat tummy.

Next is is another beach scene. This is the same white bikini with green trim that we saw earlier. This time they use the great blue sky to their advantage. Megumi is framed against the sky as the camera is at knee level or thigh level. You will be amazed at the angles employed which show off her body to our great advantage as well as showing us how small her bikini actually is. Very often the camera is in tight for amazing closeups of Megumi’s lush bosom. Her breasts are rich and full. Although this scene is beautifully composed, and the model looks terrific – this scene had yet another piano solo beneath. Given our proximity to Magumi, it might have been even better if we had been able to hear the sounds of the sea as it rushes in to meet the beach.

Guess what. Megumi is topless in the next scene. Yup. Not a bra or bikini top in sight. Just careful placement of her arms or hands when facing us. With the Thai greenery and the old wooden staircase as out background, this is a gorgeous scene. Take note of the single earring with a dangling piece of colored glass and a feather which she wears on her right ear.

Back to the hotel for another sequence in the white bikini. This time, Megumi undoes the top, and although the scene plays for grace and beauty; meaning they’re not really going for cheap peeks, it doesn’t work that well. This was the weakest scene in the whole DVD.

A wonderful shower scene plays next. The shower head delivers a huge amount of water, and Megumi look grand in this one. There’s a few shots with her back to us, that you will marvel about seeing because even from the back we can see a good amount of her breasts.

Another beach scene follows and this is the sign off. It’s not quite a standard sunset scene which are almost ‘required’ but it is late afternoon. Then we have about 12 minutes of making of and behind the scenes.

Throughout the DVD, Megumi has good number of scenes in which she speaks to us, or is answering questions. She’s very adept at these, showing no girlish shyness or immaturity in the form of giggles. This is a woman you’d love to get to know. She’s very cool and collected, and looks like communicating one on one is something she loves to do. After watching this DVD I know we’d all love to meet her.

Summary – great composition, brief bikinis, lots of great angles and looks. There’s many spectacular shots which show off Megumi’s lush figure. She’s not going to ever be at the same level as a Yoko Matsugane for beauty, or in the same ball park as Harumi Nemoto in terms of size and shapeliness – but this DVD should garner her many, many new fans. I’m sure you can tell how much I loved this DVD, as this is a lengthy review. This one will come in as a Four Point Seven Five point, an almost perfect score!
